Champion prices are ridiculous

So i just finally unlocked all of the champions in the game as of a few days ago. I have over 2,000 hours of league, and I've used all of my blue essence and champ shards as efficiently as possible. I've spent real money on the Event passes because it is now the only way to efficiently earn new champions. (since each event generally has a "random champion shard" option for 50 tokens).

How is it ok that the only way to earn all of the champions in the game is by playing the game for 2,200 hours and then also spending at least $30 on event passes just to unlock all the champions???
