Silver III and Silver IV's matched with Iron I's and Iron II's in solo ranked ? The skill Gap is huge. A player with 7 games played and 9% winrate in the same game when the other team has Silver III and Silver IV players with 400 games played.

Match making ranked is a joke. I understand why the game is dying, or will be dead soon, and why people quit or become toxic.

Being toxic in game because of feeders, noobs, frustration, bad play, that is one thing. And it should never become racist or hatred or death threats for the record.

But Being frustrated with the developers or programmers and owners of a game is a whole different thing that is perfectly fine when you pay or paid or give time and energy to a product or game.

How hard is it now that the game is or was successful to properly organize and handle a stable Solo Ranked Q community?

It cant be this hard, where its become a joke and a disaster nearly every other game.

Skill gaps are huge in solo Q. C'mon.

Get your heads out of your rear ends! There's probably 1,000 League of Legend players and ranked grinders in Silver & Gold tier that could come to your studios and fix the problems in a week or 2 simply by telling you everything that's wrong and how it would be more enjoyable and competitive outside of the LCS and Pro crap that is a pipe dream for your main community!

Whoever is in charge of Matchmaking in ranked, and the people in charge these days at Riot, you might have money & notoriety, but you don't have your ears in your community nor a vision for the future within this game's ranked solo Q match making. At least not that I hear or read you sharing with all of us. It's a joke that will lead to people playing other games and the #1 reason this game is dying. Fix Solo Q ranked so that the majority of games, at the very very least, are competitively enjoyable.

It's worse when you as Silver 4 have to play against Plat 3 and 4's, while you can't even queue up with them.

A few points

  • You have a 46% winrate right now, which means that more than likely your MMR is skewed beyond recognition.

  • People can have inflated mmrs, making them match much higher than their rank suggests. People can also duo.

  • You mention iron players in your low silver high bronze games, but I don't see them in your match history.

I feel like a silver with 400+ games is at the same skill level as an iron player. The skill gap really doesn't change much. iron-Gold is the same. Plat is below iron-gold. diamond is meh, the game really starts getting skill gaps in D1+; everything else is basically the same.

Matchmaking uses MMR and not current rank. Let's say you are currently ranked "Iron IV" but go on a 20 games win streak. You'll be sitting in "Iron I" but with a really really high MMR compared to your current rank (probably low silver MMR). So it makes sense to be matched with low silver player and this is most of the time why you might get matched with people with "lower rank". They are not necessarily bad player...

This is very important to balance games. If a smurf, or Elo-booster plays in lower elo, they tend to get 80% winrate or more. It wouldnt be fair for anyone to keep them matched against "Iron I" player when they are obviously playing way better than their current rank. So they will start getting matched with high ranked player in order to balance things out.

It's statistically impossible to always get the better teammates and get carried all the time, just like it's statistically impossible to always get bad teammates and lose all the time. People should stop judging people based on their rank and start judging them on how they play the game, understand it, etc. If I was to make a new account, I'd have to play a couple of games in bronze/silver elo and my rank might be Bronze/Silver for a while, but eventually after enough games I'll end up climbing back to my current rank.

I mean, you're quite right. I myself am suffering from those inting, feeders and to top it off, toxic, players. Im not sure why. From Iron to Gold, the players' mentality is changing, but being placed with somebody from low-elo like Bronze I or Silver IV (if they are premades), makes everything useless. The difference between the players is big, not just the skill gap, but the decision making and etc. The matchmaking is really a bit broken, maybe we can even remove the 'a bit'. And from that matchmaking, MMR suffers quite enough, cuz of feeders and players that are managing yo fvck up the team mentality. We all know that when a person is tilted, even us ourselves, we suffer from bad decisions and plays. Muting doesnt work quite much tbh.
