What popular/well received games do you hate?
Slime Rancher: This game is genuinely a piece of absolute garbage and I do not understand how anyone enjoys playing it. All of the slimes are just "blob with different colors", inventory management is a MASSIVE chore, exploration is slow and dull, and selling more than 20 of a given plort tanks it's price for the next few in-game weeks. I forced myself, mostly out of utter boredom, to play at least 8h of the game, but I eventually realized I'd rather sit alone with my thoughts than sit in front of a storage receptacles pressing buttons on my mouse for hours on end. I have no idea how this game has overwhelmingly positive on Steam and why the majority of the reviews say something like "SLIME RANCHER CURED MY DEPRESSION11!11!"
Overwatch: every single match is the same.
Breath of The Wild: Fun for about 10h. Then I realized I would be doing the same couple of things for the next 100 hours and put it down. I know it's cliche as fuck but the game really is wide as an ocean and deep as a puddle. There's like, 6 enemy types in the whole game, the same number of biomes, and about 4 types of shrines.
Dark Souls 2: I know everyone says "that's the worst one!" but I don't enjoy games that revel in being challenging because, while I enjoy a challenge, I do not enjoy games that go out of their way to beat the shit out of me.
Minecraft: Everything is so slow in survival, the mobs are so obnoxious, and the game oscillates between "zero combat challenge" and "six creepers attacking you in your house."
TFT/Hearthstone/etc.: Sorry but I cannot stand RNG in my competitive games. I understand that RNG has no bearing on if I can climb or not because everyone faces the same odds, but that doesn't make me feel any better when I get dicked over by a bad roll.
Any roguelike: FTL: FTL, crypt of the necro dancer, binding of isaac, spelunky, etc. does not matter. I cannot lie, I kind of suck at video games so usually I use superior game knowledge and grinding to get past most challenges my mechanics can't handle, so I end up not enjoying games that hinge upon mechanics and lack the ability to build up a character over time.
