Ranked status

Does anyone feel that it's harder to climbed ranked now, or am I just an idiot? With autofill I am getting filled every 5th game on average, but it changes every position. Add on top of that getting my secondary position every 3rd game. So ranked is per lane, therefore I have to play more games to actually climb the ladder. I thought the point was to make ranked easier to climb and make you feel more impactful. Am I getting how the ranked system worked wrong? Did I miss-read what the Devs posted?

How will this effect the border you achieve at the end of the season?

I do on the other hand love the matchmaking based on position and rank at that position.
