Why the Akali change, though?

Just curious, why wasn't a new champ created instead?

Same question can go for Irelia, Talon, etc; any champion who has been "reworked" and became a completely different champion.

Those weren't minor changes, they made her a completely different champion.

What/who decides when a champ needs to be reworked? Is it popularity? because I doubt classic champs like ez, ashe, or teemo, will get a rework.

but don't stop here, rework Nunu too.

Yeah I'm bitter. ヽ(`Д´)ノ

Akali was a binary, point-and-click stat-checking champion. There was very little healthy design to be found in her kit.

That + her low play-rate was enough to change her.

Talon was hardly changed, so no reason to add him. Irelia was similar to Akali as well though.

Reworks cam be done for a number of reasons, whether it be the champion doesn't work thematically, is too hard to balance consistently, has an out-dated kit, etc.

That being said, I'm seriously sorry your champ got reworked, No sarcasm :( . I've always hated the concept of reworks, regardless if they actually turn out good or not. Even if a bunch of people like the rework, it's alienating others who were loyal to the original.

It would be really nice if they just made "reworks" like skins in the sense that you could choose which kit you'd like to play with. I know this doesn't do a whole lot for the game regarding consistency and knowledge, but I think more people would end up being happier in the end. If the champion was a real problem, they could just have their numbers nerfed (potentially quite a bit) to the point of being left in a weakened state, if only to let people who want to keep playing that champ with that kit keep enjoying it.

Might not be super practical, but I think the playstyle is what makes a champion so enjoyable, the way certain things work together. Not necessarily their damage. Speaking for myself, if I had to choose between a dramatic nerf on all my damage or a complete rework, I'd choose the former every time.

Bring back old Karma :( (and friends...in a form of my idea listed above so everyone is happy :( )

Nunu is getting reworked, also because Akali was just a braindead stat check.

If a champion has a healthy Kit EX: Ashe, MF, Fiora the most they will get is a VGU with minor changes but if a champ is unhealthy or doing poor Ex: Irelia, Urgot, Yorick, Katarina , Talon they will get a rework with a whole Kit change.

Because the original idea was lacking thematic cohesion or was toxic in design. So Riot takes the champ back to the drawing board and focuses down on core themes and what the purpose of the champion should be.

Also, Talon wasn't really changed much. He got a minor update that gave him a new ability and changed up how some of his other stuff worked. Not really sure why you included him on that list.

Akali : all point and click, old kit, stat check Irelia : mostly point and click, old kit, stat check Nunu : all point and click, old kit, still kinda fun tbh. they're just removing old point and click champions it seems and I have no problem with that. Also, the Talon rework made him a lot more fun in my opinion.
