Anyone read ranked FAQ lately?

I just read it as I was curious how master & challenger decay worked. Reading through the FAQ got me excited to try and climb the ladder and seems motivational. Then you remember that over half of the ranked population will not get past silver and less than 10% will reach platinum. Not saying this is good or bad thing just think its funny when you think about it. All of those divisions, yet most of us are gold,silver,bronze :(.
