Intentionally losing games to get smurfs back down to bronze

Tonight I encountered two games back to back where in some higher elo player was intentionally feeding / trying to lose the game to get their account back down to bronze. This is infuriating and I think should be a punishable offense. I think an easy fix for this would be to lower the time barrier for starting new accounts and getting them to start in bronze by default. Maybe adding in an option to pay money to have an account that starts at bronze 1 so long as you can log into an account that has already played a season of ranked...

I'm not sure on the best way to fix falling smurfs, but I can tell you that it is infuriating that they exist... I am extremely glad that it didn't happen during a series for me and were standard ranked games.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Does anyone have a good idea of how to combat this?

UHHH that is very frustrating but as an individual that has multiple accounts i think starting at bronze would be absolute hell I started this game end of season 4 and I went to silver 4 so I have never even been in bronze but I can tell you that's that way for a reason! new accounts from higher elos would obliterate bronze players

It is punishable, it's called intentionally feeding?
