Ping In League of Legends

Recently when playing League I have encountered a problem, my ping spikes up. Usually, I get around 28ms ping when playing with a max of 30ms. However, these past couple of days I have been encountering ping up to 800ms and fluctuating from that to 40ms. I don't think it's a problem on my end since all my other games are working regularly and I play with an Ethernet cord. What is happening?
