Why gangplank

Why does gangplank barrel appear from the ground but not from the sky ? Why he make that stupid move of oh look im making some pottery and ohh a barrel appear and not yoohoo throw that hyper carry barrel from the sky and explode like a real barrel ? May someone can fix that because its really weird to see a barrel appear from nowhere .
