LP system needs attention

so. as I'm not entirely sure how the current rating system works ill speak from what i know. first off. it sucks. but here is a few legit reasons why.

 1. DC/leavers: biggest flaw by far is there is no LP loss dampening system for when a teammate quits on you or gets disconnected for the last 5 crucial minutes of the game. how many of us have lost 20+ LP from a game they were dominating in? or a game where it was 4v5 start to finish because the server wouldn't let someone in?

elo loss needs to be adjusted with some kind of stalemate when leavers are involved. the system slapping you in the face and saying "you suck because you couldn't win a 4v5 lolz" is very demoralizing, especially when... and we all know this happens.... u get this 3 games in a row. and people on your next team WILL judge you based solely on the loss not the how it happened. one person suggested this tagged on an extra LP loss to the DC is question, but i cant say I'm all for this as a lot of us know the servers aren't perfect and its not always intentional.

 2. LP gain loss based on where the game THINKS you are supposed to be.

when you are losing 23 LP a game. and wining a measly 11. is it your fault that the game is forcing you to be paired with 4 tiers under you? its literally FORCING you to lose by trying to consistently pair you up with people who it THINKS are your skill level when it should prioritize hooking you up with people who are actually IN your ranking tier FIRST i personally dropped from my hard earned gold ranking (thankfully after the season ended) because i was constantly paired with people who weren't even ranked. let alone silver. whereas before it was always gold and silvers in promos. ( the heavy DC rate did not help) 6 games in a row with someone on your team going 0/6/1 tends to harsh ones mellow, let alone rank. which brings along the next one.

 3. Feeders: intentional or not. they happen. and when you or someone else feeds some 10 deaths to an Akali, Katarena or Yi, the game gets preeeeeeety one-sided and not many of us would actually call these games at all.

Now as this is in fact part of the game there's no actual fix for this i do have one iffy suggestion. ADD an "I f**ked up" button to the after game screen. a tool with limited uses a month that reduces the ELO-blow to the rest of your team for those rare games when you go 0/11 with no excuses and know it was legit your fault. this wont overly break the rating system. it will just help keep a lot of people closer to where they actually are with a far greater reduction in morale loss and a reduced need to pummel a certain someone in RL.

4. Morale: the ribbon system implemented by riot to reward good behavior or something.it needs to go in favor of a new system, personal experience i had with it was i had almost all of those silly things. I didn't do anything out of my ordinary, I'm usually nice to my team and more-so to my opponents but after i won a game one day they were gone, poof* i was pissed, legitimately angry, all the little decorations id earned taken in an instant with no explanation or notice whatsoever, needless to say my following games (for the next several months) did not go so well as i was feeling needless hostile towards people in general. I still look at those few who still have them with some disdain.

so basically this system backfired. heck i don't even SEE anyone with a ribbon anymore save every 20 games or so something far more useful would be to actually to able to reward someone on your team with LP "hey yeah we totally won that because of the freaky bs you pulled that game, you should be a higher rating" 1-3 LP goes a LONG way. especially if you are trying to claw your way up losing 23 and winning 11... which incidentally falls directly into this "morale" category. when these are the stats being given after a game when you are trying your best it doesn't exactly say you should have any reason to care when you have almost nothing to gain and will just potentially lose 2 hours of work from 2-3 games in the next 20 minutes. seriously... fix this.

5."I'm not good at this": (i could, and will bring parts of this up in another post) when u get people on your team who just cannot do that one roll that they are forced into. either from miscommunication or lack thereof in champ select or it was all that's left and they are last pick. this usually tends to veer towards a loss, now personally i believe everyone who joins a ranked game should be able to fill a minimum of 3 rolls and more if they want to go higher. but hey, it doesn't take a lot of champs owned to jump into the big kids pool... and u could have just maxed that requirement out on mages or tanks alone. so anyway. yeah. u just lost because you were made to do something u probably shouldn't have and your rating was promptly judged as tho you actually knew what you were doing and just suck. to fix this. first thing is take a pointer from teambuilder. as its ranked and u cant just say "I'm gonna jump into this roll with this champion" we SHOULD however be able to say "I'm gonna jump into this game and THESE are the rolls i can actually do". so when selecting to start a ranked game, and before duo queues hit go, you need to be able to check-box rolls you are willing and able to fill. we will start seeing a lot more players who support exclusively hitting the higher tiers. now here's the biggie. roll theft often unintentional, especially to those of us who specialize in non meta builds exa. support shaco, mid apc sona or anyone packing a teleport. !!THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE!! we need ICONS IN CHAMP SELECT SHOWING THE POSITION WE ARE FILLING with the hero we just picked. especially where its involving the language barrier vs anti meta specialists. by far the absolute BIGGEST problem in LoL whatsoever is people who dont know where anyone is going and just pick whatever. so A. a set of icons displaying rolls that each player can fill and the rest crossed or grayed out B. players selecting the roll and lane they intend to go changing as needed to reduce confusion with said icons so we can SEE where everyone is going instead of having to climb a giant rocky "wall of text" (particularly when said wall-o-text is unavailable due to chat being down) C. no last second panic picks or lanes/rolls accidentally taken due to not knowing wtf is going on. D. (use of this system does NOT guarantee u will get the roll you have marked as wanting to fill since after all, it IS pick order in the end. but this WILL reduce the odds of say lux appearing in the adc slot because said player just didn't have one single adc at all, as well as to all of us anti meta masters being forced to use the hero in question with the roll EXPECTED of them which... ironically. we cant actually do... like... at all, because thats just not WHAT we do.)

I have to agree with probably all of it. As for the Icons or whatever in ranked to mark the role you just selected when you were to pick: YES. I had it SO many times that someone did not reply to the question what he was picking, selecting his champ in the last second, not saying anything and then you just sit there and have to guess where that person might go. Or you yourself have to pick with them and just simply panic-click on any champion in your sight and there you have it: Pantheon Support. Oops. Or Janna jungle. Hell yeah. Thank you, slow, mute person that couldn't type 3 letters in the chat.

The LP-giving thing as a reward seems kinda intriguing even though it will probably not be used SO often... but I could be wrong. I don't dare to judge the community. The ribbon thing is something that is long lost. I had my teamwork-ribbon for like... 4 days or so. And I do have a lot of teamwork-votes. It basically vanished because I wasn't playing a day or two and didn't get 3 team-work votes in every game I played. And that is rubbish. If you are a long-team teamplayer and your votes reflect that (not by having 200+ votes per day but receiving them at least maybe 1 per day), it should not temporarily been seen (like 4 days. Because that basically seems to mean "Hey, you've been doing good teamwor, but only for 4 days.") but more permanent. Like... if you give us ribbons or badges. Give them for a number of earned votes and make those permanent. Or do the LP/IP (for normals) thing that was mentioned.
