Is there a need for all of this true damage in the game now?

In the past true damage felt special, it was a huge part of a champions kit, it doesn't feel that way anymore.

Give a reason why it is a bad thing first.

Remember the tank meta a season ago, where games were drawn out as fuck, tanks were the outright best class in the game and killing them was nigh impossible when they got going?

The LoL Wiki page for CertaintlyT states: "CertaintlyT stands for 'CertainlyT' stands for 'Certainly True Damage'" Link

The answer is 'yes'. The reason it is needed is because if you have even one champion who uses true damage, then it sets the bar for rest of the hundred+ champions. So true damage in champion kits forces more and more access to true damage across the board. RIOT is forced to do this for balance purposes whether or not it was their intention.

Personally, I think RIOT needs to really analyze damage in the game and revisit true damage abuse cases first. But they don't show any signs of wanting to do that (just released Pyke as a support champion with a resetting champion execute). An execute is an advanced form of true damage that ignores shields. Now, why did RIOT have to give this powerful ability to Pyke? RIOT had to do it because damage in the game is out of control. They can't balance Pyke to do the damage that he needs to do to compete with all the damage all the other champions do. So now we can add Pyke to the growing list of abuse cases.

For the record, I don't have a problem with insta-delete champions like... LeBlanc (who doesn't have free true damage in her kit), but I am kinda sorta close to quitting League of Legends just because of the overall trends in champion kits (releases, reworks, and miscellaneous changes) and the runes reloaded (that I really really did not like, did not want, am not happy with). It isn't just true damage that's a problem (for me).

Getting tired of dying to champions who deal over 65% true damage because of a rune.

Because riot thinsk true damage is a good design.

We've been using True Damage more than launch LoL/early seasons did. That's due to a belief on our part that it's a valuable tool for helping balance the game that was underutilized.

Y'all are not going to sit here and complain about true damage, you've been crying all season for crit to be nerfed and it has been gutted by shifting it into true damage and now you want to complain about true damage also?.... Unbelievable.
