What exactly is this " OSXMouseAcceleration" setting?

OSXMouseAcceleration=1

is set to 1, so naturally on right?

Isn't mouse acceleration bad for games like league or any game in general? What exactly does this setting do?

found it in game.cfg under General

If it is set to 1, it is on yes. If you want it off, have it = 0.

Mouse acceleration is a tool used to make casual mouse use easier. Without it, physical mouse movement to on-screen movement is 1:1. With it on, as you move the mouse farther and farther across the screen in one motion it will speed up your mouse by skipping pixels to help you get to the other side of the screen faster. This is detrimental to games because it means that there are "dead zones" where you CAN'T aim in one motion because of the acceleration.

Good question. WTF is that?

The faster you move your mouse the more screen distance the cursor will cover per mouse distance.

Swear though.. mouse acceleration has always been bad, and this looks like a new setting.

Why the hell is it not within the in game settings? You can only get to it through game.cfg

I realize how old this post is but seeing as no answer came to fruition, I'd like to provide what I think this pertains to. It's not a game setting. It's an OS (operating system) setting, X being windows, mac, linux etc. Just a variable. The OS setting referred to and how to change it is illustrated here. Go to settings>mouse and click additional mouse options, then on the new box, click pointer options and uncheck the enhance pointer precision box.
