Hi there. So my friend just started league, and i made a bet with him that he wouldn't make it to silver 5 within 50 days.
So i am wondering, how many of his 10 promo placement matches does he need to win to get into silver 5,
Because I want to hope he only makes it into bronze and has to climb out, because i don't think he can get out of bronze.

well my friend only won like 3 or 4 and he got placed into silver 5.... Idk seems almost impossible to get placed in bronze these days with new accounts. Its kind of shitty because my buddy kept playing and has been on a huge losing streak and is now bronze 2. Being placed higher than one should sucks because it makes a player think they are better than they are and results in many losses for them and their team. I think its better for people to get placed lower than they should or right where they should and force them to prove their rank by ranking up.
Season 3 I was bronze 4. Was i mad? yea...... was I really a bronze player? Idk close enough. It was a grind but I made it to silver. Made me feel like I accomplished something and helped me learn the game.
Its completely random honestly. My bud won all 10 of his games and was play last season, got put on bronze 3 as a result. Placement matches really dont do anything at all.
Second hand information, but -
New accounts can be placed from Bronze 1 --> Gold 5, with the average being around S3/S4. A fresh account, assuming it wasn't a smurf, as long as he wins one or two, he should be fine. I've personally never heard of people being placed into bronze or gold, but it's apparently possible.
