New yorick

I feel like we have lost a great champ for a semi ok champ... I don't like the new Yorick. I feel like his minions are an after thought. Yorick was a ghoul based champ with some OP tactics. Now i feel like the new Uorick update got away from the ghouls and is just MEH.

Riot why did you destroy the dream of minions destroying the world. why did you ruin a champ with an update that does not center around having minions as the main focus.

"OP tactics"

Old Yorick: time to spam my lane! That bar isn't getting a new counter anytime soon.

His minions and ultimate deal quite a bit of damage not sure what you're referring too. Also the old Yorick was one of the unhealthiest champions in the game.

hmmm He does though. His whole trading system is getting his passive ready, It just made it healthier to play against. I mean look at his kit: Q- allows him to setup graves to spawn minions| W- land a trap for you and your minions to wail on the enemy while they try to escape| E- gives you the tools to have your minions target the correct champ| R- literally spawns minions and a bigger minion to help fight in 1v2s, teamfights, or just stomp a 1v1.

I mean to me that sounds pretty minion focused, what I can say is I didn't play a lot of old yorick, I understand that they are different but they play in similar styles still. Now instead of just summoning all your ghouls and just out tanking the enemy New yorick requires some setup ( is my passive ready, can I land this E easily, will I put the W down in the right position) but you'll still get the army of undead to out trade players.

All in All I think new and old yorick have a lot of similarities especially in the minion focused gameplay, but new yorick has weaknesses that are notable by the enemy, he's still has very strong lane pressure and great 1v2 potential but he's healthier in the sense of allowing the opponent to know when to fight back.

I love the new Yorick. I have died to other yoricks and in "damage dealt" when i died i took 1300 damage from ghouls so...yeah. Ghouls OP.

My strategy is to go in lane with a dorans blade and with 10% lifesteal at level one with warlords bloodlust so i can Harass and recover all my HP spaming Q's in no time.

Your main focus in lane is to prepare 3 or 4 graves, hit your E, hit your W and pretty much one shot anyone. And i mean anyone.

new yorick sucks, and riot's like 1 for 6 on making good juggernauts

I love the idea of them but their execution has been awful besides Darius

I was hyped for his relaunch but that accual kit fell flat.

Alright i see where he can be useful but at the same time ... his old ult was Perfect for a revenge kill and he lost a LOT of lifesteal from not having his red minion. If you miss his E then you don't get the slow and when you are in lane and get ganked if you don't land your slow ass wall then you don't have a good escape. The old yorick even though less played and under utilized was much more focused on placement of his minions and use of his basic attacks. Now you are focused on basic attacks with some back up abilities to close range. BUT the graves dont always register when there are three of them in an area and i find that focusing on his Q to raise the ghouls in a fight can be distracting. I wish they made more ghouls instead of just an afterthought of an ability. IT makes it more of a tank based champ. I might need to practice him more but i still feel like they got away from the actual core of who he used to be.

What do you mean new Yorick "got away from the ghouls"?

Ghouls are now the vast majority of Yorick's damage and the entire focus of his kit. His new Q and R summon ghouls, and his new W and E provide setup to make sure ghouls reach their target. Old Yorick was the one whose ghouls were an afterthought.

His winions stack his passives, and are annoying lil roaches o.o...How are people not winning with him once he has a sheen?

Stephenizgod11/28/2016, 7:39:36 PM1 votes

I don't know how you are playing him but his Mist Walkers are like his entire kit. He doesn't have much dueling potential without them, he can't really push without them, he can't really do anything without them because all he has is his Q and his E for damage. Without his Mist Walkers, you are like a worse version of Nasus without the stacks, you get 1 or 2 good hits in then you are fucked.

Build up your Graves until you have 3-4, raise your Mist Walkers, land your W, then your E and watch their HP melt in a matter of seconds. They proc Lifesteal so with Death's Dance you will be healing for a good chunk of HP, with Sheen you hit like a truck while your Mist Walkers chase them down. If they jump on you instead, pop your ult and watch their HP melt even faster while you heal for a crap ton.

EDIT: Also Old Yorick was a terrible champion, he was toxic to play against and pretty terrible to play as. He was fun, but he was completely unhealthy for the game. There is a reason Riot never put him in Free Champion Rotation and said if he ever became relevant they would nerf him immediately. He was bad design and bad for the game, new Yorick is better in almost every single way.

Spamming the W & E button mindlessly on the enemy is considered "OP tactics". Good god.....
