How I Beat Lvl 100 Doom Bots ("Mini" Guide)

It took me about 40 tries overall, like 38 of which were me hoping that I would find a good team through the matchmaking (Haha, good joke right?). After I realized that was impossible, I asked people from the boards to add me if they wanted to win too. We got together and warmed up on Lvl 80 first. We won, and it seemed WAY too easy, so we took the same comp (switched Jinx for Veigar) and went to Lvl 100. Beat that first try as well. The game plan was that me (Alistar) and Karthus just continuously walked right up to the enemy bots. Of course we would die almost instantly, but a dead Karthus is a good Karthus because the bots aren't smart enough to step off of the defile, and I would basically just provide a 5 man knockup, then ult and waste a bunch of their time trying to kill me. This worked surprisingly well in stalling them after they grouped up, but went horribly in the beginning lane phase. After Teemo showed up, we literally walked to where he spawned and kept suiciding just to get damage down, everyone smiting together and ulting whenever they had it, and we killed him before he even took our mid inhib turret.
If you want to win as well, I suggest using any champs that have AOE. That may seem obvious, but you would be surprised how many Xin Zhao instalocks I've seen from playing with randoms. Maybe three AOE mages, an ADC, and a tank (Probably Alistar). I've also heard that Sion is really good if you build damage and lifesteal. I've seen a ton of people link that "Doom Bots Tier List" website, but tbh, I disagree with A LOT of their ratings. So believe them or believe me, up to you. It may seem obvious, but go 2 top, 1 mid, 2 bot in the laning phase. The main keys I was trying to explain to every team that didn't want to listen to me is that:
- If you lose your tower, you need to rotate immediately and follow your bots to the next lane. If you were at top or bot, they will always go mid. If you're mid, try and watch them to see which direction they walk off to.
- Don't give the bots kills! I know they're strong af, but I played many games where I had 0 deaths, and my teammates had like 16 deaths each. If you give the bots kills, once you finally take them down, they will come back UNSTOPPABLE because of all the gold you gave them. If you are low HP, do not hesitate to recall, and either walk or TP back if you have it. It's not impossible. This is where being mechanically skilled makes a huge difference in your ability to actually beat this mode.
- If you don't have at least 20 kills by the time Teemo spawns, you will not be strong enough to defeat him. When you reach 20 kills on Lvl 100, you are granted about 20k gold split between the whole team (The gold scales with the difficulty you selected). This gives a huge damage spike, or tankiness spike if you're tanking for your team that is completely essential.
- Take Smite and Teleport, as most people know by now. Smite for bonus damage to Teemo if you make it that far (Also helps if they have an Udyr), and TP to quickly return to lane if you get bullied out or run OOM. If you're terrible at dodging skillshots or they don't have an Udyr, Flash or Cleanse are acceptable replacements for smite, but TP is necessary.
Another really big factor is luck. The enemy team comp is random, as are the various curses that activate as the game goes on. Are you laning against a Lux and Malzahar while the turrets are electrified and Realm Warps keep spawning at your feet? Well then you're probably going to lose your turret REALLY fast because you're gonna be zoned super hard, making it easier for the bots to land skillshots on you. Either let them take your tower, or die trying to defend it.
Some of the strongest Bots:
: Only because of his ult's ridiculous range. If you're anywhere near him and his teammates, you will be stunned as soon as you engage.
: Brings neutral monsters (All but Baron) to the lanes to push with him. This is a problem because they stack up really easily if you don't take them down quickly, and they push other lanes than the one you're currently fighting at. On the plus side, if you last hit them you get free buffs.
: Holy **** Riot, what were you thinking? Lux is absolutely ridiculous. Throws a bind? Here's 6 more binds. Throw's an E? Here's 6 binds to go with that. If a single bind touches you, you're dead, and they're almost impossible to dodge, especially if you're trying to dodge other things at the same time, like Giga Blind Darts. TBH, if they have Lux in champ select, you probably lost this attempt.
: Much like Lux, Brand has insane AOE magical damage that is nearly impossible to dodge. Most likely why he's banned for us, because he would be freelo. Thanks a lot Riot.
: Impossible to kill, but he'll have no trouble killing you. Most annoying thing is his passive, spawning small AOEs around himself that if you stand in them when they are done channeling, you're forced to walk towards him briefly. Basically, if you fail to dodge these, you're dead.
: Pretty annoying, but not the worst. His hooks launch three ways from his body, making them fairly hard to dodge if you're immobile. Like most of the doombots' abilities, if a hook touches you, prepare to die. Probably the more annoying things are his ult and passive. His ult deals massive damage in a massive radius (kinda like Amumu) but silences you instead of stunning, making it hard for you to fight back with your team full of mages. His passive is amped up to 11, giving him about a 10k damage shield when he's near death.
: If there is a minion wave near you, guarantee that Yasuo Bot will try and dash to you. If he manages to get in your face, you're a goner, along with the rest of your team if you're grouped up, in the blink of an eye. His E, Tornado Q combo goes in all directions and the tornadoes are huge. Also his passive allows him to ult anyone who's knocked up anywhere on the map. Sounds horrible? It is.
If their team consists of none of these bots, boy are you lucky. Not to say the other bots won't one shot you like these ones, but it's mainly the ridiculous passives of these bots that makes them insane. The others are predictable and easier to outplay.
Some of the strongest Curses:
Celestial Expansion: Mostly because it enables a few of the bots to zone you really hard. Doesn't deal too much damage though, and can be easily dodged. Death Defied: One of the most annoying ones, makes one of the bots invulnerable every few seconds. Trust me when I say it's not random, this curse will target a bot just as you're about to kill them. Especially annoying because the bot is still allowed to move and cast spells, but you can't stop them. Aegis Protection: Hella annoying if you're playing an ADC like MF or Jinx. Otherwise, freelo if you have a team of mages. Realm Warp: These are also not random, and will only open when you're near the bots, always right under your feet too. If you stand in one as it finishes channeling, you will teleport a short distance towards the enemy base and attract the aggro of all nearby bots. They will relentlessly chase you until you die. Halluciante: Basically, every bot gets a Shaco clone that will just charge into your face and explode. Mainly annoying because it's hard to tell the difference between a clone and a real bot when there are so many other things to dodge already. Windwall: Annoying if you have crucial skillshots to land. The windwall will always spawn just as you throw a skillshot. Make sure you bait it out before wasting an ult. Giga Blind Darts: Just adds more things for you to have to constantly dodge and watch the map for. The damage is mediocre, but the blind can be annoying albeit kinda cool. Electrified Turrets: THE most annoying curse imo. As explained above, in combination with other zoning curses, you will be unable to defend your turret unless you have insane range to kill the waves from far back.
I had so much stuff I wanted to say that this may be a bit disorganized, but if you've read this far, thanks for that. I feel like an expert at this game mode now, especially since it took me so many tries, I know almost everything. If anyone has any questions or needs help I'll be checking this post a couple times a day until The Teemoing ends. Hopefully this "guide", if you can call it that, will help someone else beat this insane mode. GJ Riot, it was actually crazy challenging, and every time I lost I wasn't angry, I just wanted to try again :] It's not impossible guys, it just takes a good understand of what the bots are capable of, and how to exploit their very few flaws. You'll also need some skill (I'm Plat 5 for skill reference), luck, and patience. GLHF! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
Edit: A few things I just thought about mentioning!
- The Bots will not target your Zzrot portal if you buy one, but what they will do is kill the voidlings if there's nothing else nearby. Try setting your Zzrots in a lane that the bots are not at to keep from having to defend those towers.
- Banner of Command is great in this mode. Most of the Bots are AP, and Banner minions are immune to magic damage. Send a Banner Cannon down a lane that the bots aren't in and it will push far out, or place it in the lane where the bots ARE at, and it will create a short stall and allow you to land free hits while they struggle to break the Banner Minion.
- Teemo CAN BE CROWD CONTROLLED. This is important because it buys time. As Alistar, you can headbutt Teemo further back, or into your turret. Instead of just killing you all, he will run back to where he was before you shoved him, sparing precious seconds for you to deal more damage.
- Someone once suggested to me that we "backdoor" Teemo as he spawns. This is impossible, as the bots all converge around Teemo to summon him. If you try to attack Teemo, any nearby bots will turn around and fight you. When I say nearby, I mean a fairly large radius, don't expect to sneak attack the Lord of all Evil.
