Ranked Draft Pick

So I have been playing rank flexed draft queue and have noticed how if you do not lock in but have selected a champion you are booted from the lobby. This is HUGE. I have always just selected a champion and been fine. I have had three games in the last day now here I have selected a champion but was booted because I just didn't hit lock in. Has this been a problem for anyone else who has been playing for a long time?
