Support Gold Increase Idea

So recently, Riot made it so there are 12 supports in the free rotation of 20 champions in an effort to get more people to play support . While talking about their reasoning, they asked about how they could potentially make supports get the same gold income as other roles. An idea that I had was to make it so when you have a support item, assists give you extra gold. That way when the support secures the kill with a good stun or root, they can feel like they get rewarded as much as the others. This is just an idea and additions to it would be appreciated
