Lux was left behind with the mana regen nerfs.

After the mana regen nerfs that the preseason patch brought, Lux struggles in lane. Not only does her E almost never kills caster minions unless you are ahead, it also costs 130 mana. She gets outpushed extremely easily, and she can't harass the champions that DON't outpush her, without losing Cs.

Worst part is Riot Phreak actually commented on this .. saying he never runs out of mana with Tear..

Well guess what, I want to actually SURVIVE before I get gold for tear / chalice

Most mages in the game have a really hard time with the mana regen nerfs. Meanwhile assassins already ran the mid lane before the nerfs.. now mages just don't even stand a chance against a Zed/Fizz/Kat/Akali.

On the other hand Yasuo and Zed are unusually giddy.

Riot balance team guy 1: "Most mages are being shit on by mobility and endless sustain champs." Riot balance team guy 2: "Let's shit on them some more because spending 880 gold on mana regen to let them stay in lane is totally awful when their lane opponent gets to buy a pickaxe and farm forever instead."

No context, no awareness. Who is running the show over there? ~Uiru

A lot of mana users were left behind, lux notwithstanding.

Mana regen became easy since chalice was given a build path in S2 iirc. Champs like lux, gragas, karthus, ahri, etc. were specifically balanced around that. Now that it has been changed, riot foolishly neglected every mana user who was balanced in the previous era. This is their balance team's biggest problem - they have zero foresight. They constantly balance champs around a specific global era then change the global era and later catch up on specifics (when these specifics are obvious from anyone with a brain).

the mana cost should be lowered, but she got left behind just as much as she was before. 130 mana for a low damage/weak CC skill is overkill and outdated. if they even made it only scale up to 100, it would help her almost all she needs IMO.

I just find it extremely frustrating that I can't harass the champions that you are supposed to harass before they get levels.

To be fair, she was left behind even before the preseason changes.

I mean why would you buff something which isn't an assassin? that make no sense.

I hate all mana heavy champs such as Avnia,Xerath in the new patch. So I play Ahri after the mana regen nerfs. Ahri's Q: 70mana->280+0.7AP is great for wave clear.

The nerf to Mejai's Soulstealer is also nerf to lux, which make her late game worse.

this is why I love item 2041... but at the same time, it feels like an abusive relationship where I feel like I'm being forced into the situation by riot. riot: oh, no one buys item 2041 anymore? Well how about after we nerf mana regen? gonna buy it NOW?... I take it back, its not an abusive relationship as much as a shake down for protection money .__.

I personally tried lux vs zed with only 2 dorans just to see how mana hungry she was. You can beat him if you land E+auto when he goes to proc his passive on a minion.

Now you have 2 options on your first back: Back at 700 for tear Or buy a dorans and save up 1600 for a large rod.

The tear will make lux more useful mid to end game, while large rod requires you to land all of your skill shots making it less forgiving without blue.

The major problem with this meta isn't the mana regen nerf, but the fact that junglers don't share blue.
