I find it ridiculous that there's still no system in place to reset games when there's an afk
Context: I just watched a livestreamed game Yusui played, on his smurf, just now, where his jungler never connected throught the whole game. Basically, they were stuck in a 4v5, good thing he had his main role, mid lane. The ennemy team wasn't great, they were decent for their level, they knew the fundamentals. Game lasted a good 50 minutes, and Yusui still wasn't able to carry it (He's challenger...)
Opinion: I know it's been said multiple times before, but Riot really needs to put priority on a system where games are reset or not as punishing as they are currently on live, if there's a leaver from the start of the game. The not-connected player might have issues, and isn't able to connect, and it happens. Game should just "vanish" and the players can just start a new game. On live, when you get a disconnected player, not only are you STUCK in an unfair 4v5 game, but you also have to play it for at least 20 minutes (surrender) or else LeaverBuster picks you up on the "Flagged train"
Argument: There's the argument where if you're always connected, you would have more chance to get a DC on the other team. It's true on paper, but in practice, it's RANDOM, you have the same chances to get a DC on your team or on your team. Also, if you get let's say 10 leavers in 10 games in a row, you're forced on a grind to try make it up to them, even though you had absolutely 0 control over the outcome of the game. Being challenger can only increase your odds of winning by so much (as seen on my example above).
Small conclusion: Players feel powerless against those games, it's a lose/lose situation for them. You might say "just play more and it won't be noticeable" but not everyone has a lot of free time. Most of us are busy studying, have to work a full-time job, and can barely fit in 1 or 2 games a day. It just feels like SHIT, literally, when you get leavers and you can't reset the game. Riot has to prioritize this BIG ISSUE. I know they mentionned working on it in a GD thread, but they're not working fast enough, it's just the BIGGEST issue at the moment. Sure reforming negative player is important but it shouldn't be a GAME company's focus, everyone get mad at some point, and we meet upset people every game, it's gonna happen no matter what. Unfair games due to leavers is an issue that just gives a bad image to the game.
tl;dr: The long "small conclusion" summs it up pretty well. Also, I repeat myself a lot in this "wall-of-text" but that's because it just makes me upset that after 5 years, one if the biggest issue is still present...
