MMR and "The Climb" Rework Potential
I do have a suggestion that would improve the game. One I've had for a couple years. Base ladder rank and MMR on the grade the player achieves. The letter grading system is not utilized to it's fullest potential. This would address elo boosting by not rewarding those who don't deserve it. Also, it would reward the excellent players in every game. For example, a D+ win would reward 0 LP (or negative because they often hinder their own team at this point) and A+ (or better) loss would lose 0 LP. I find that merely winning boots your letter grade and vice versa. Top players would not be offended by bad players if bad players can't affect their rating. Ladder/MMR is a personal rating based on how people that you have no control over perform, react and behave to different situations.
