Gnar mini-rework idea

I was thinking about how Gnar is forced into buying items that don't work well for ranged because he has no choice as to when he transforms. And suggesting it be akin to Shyvanna's transformation doesn't work because that forced transformation is central to his theme.

But thinking about Pyke gave me an idea. What if Gnar did the opposite? So in Mega form, he'd convert offensive stats into HP.

He could convert portions of his bonus AS and Crit into bonus HP. At a rate lower than 100% efficiency, like Pyke does with HP. Something like:

  • 75% of his bonus AS converted to 8 HP per 1%. (for comparison, 100% efficiency would be ~10 HP)
  • 100% of his Crit chance converted to 13 HP per 1%. (100% efficiency would be ~15 HP)

So with a fairly standard ADC build, item 3142 item 3095 item 3087 item 3153 item 3031 item 3006

75% of 130% AS = 780 HP 60% Crit = 780 HP For 1560 HP at full build. ######(Gotta say, before doing the math I had no idea the two stats would give exactly equal amounts of HP with those items and that assigned conversion rate. Pretty neato)

Bearing in mind he would lose the 75% of his AS and all his crit while in Mega for that HP boost, but still keep the AD and passives/actives from the items.

I feel like this would be a way for him to itemize into the form he's in most often without removing all the strength from Mega. It'd fix the issue he currently has, where he instead has to gimp his normal form so that he has enough defense to make plays in Mega. And the added strength for mini will be offset by the fact having more AS will put him into Mega more often.
