Here is how to ward as each laner in low elo during lane phase
This is so important because IN MY HONEST OPINION it shouldnt be easy for a jungler to gank you or catch you by surprise if you have proper vision. in my games personally, 10 times out of 10, no one knows how to ward or just doesnt ward at all. this is especially true for bot lane since most supports dont even buy a sight stone, and if they do they just randomly place wards, and ADCs sure as hell dont use there trinket wards when in reality they should be using it every time its off CD and should be buying
anytime they get the chance. I think its mostly to do with lack of map knowledge, which sometimes makes me want to spam nami games just to properly ward and stop bot lane from dying so much, and honestly my winrate and KDA spikes hard when i play her just because of proper warding to keep my team from dying to 1 dimensional ganks... its not even like junglers take different paths/routes in silver, they ALWAYS pick 1 route, 1 path, and follow it like clock work and people still die to it just because all the obvious paths are black in the fog of war. so i made a little map to try and show people the correct warding spots, ESPECIALLY for bot laners. both the adc and support should be non stop warding, if you are a support and see your adc not buying control wards or using trinkets, please remind him every minute to do so. dont care if he/she mutes you for being annoying, just do it.

Pink dots are control wards, green dots are regular wards. the green dots can also be subbed in for
For bot lane, dragon should be warded 24/7. There should not be a single instant that it isnt warded. not only does this spot cover dragon, but it also covers a ultra common path junglers take when ganking in low elo. they usually just run straight down river and you will never see it coming untill its too late. just warding that side river brush is not enough reaction time, when warding you want as much time to react as possible. This is why you also ward the upper river bush as it gives you the maximum amount of time to react if a jungler is coming from river to gank.
another place you want to ward as a bot laner is the tri bush and the bush behind red buff if you are top side, and the entrance to blue buff if you are bottom side(altho top side can also ward blue entrance to help your jungler out if he is being invaded, but technically that should be his job since warding is a team wide effort and you only have a limited number of wards per person) the reason you want to ward in these places is because its common paths junglers take, its basically an exit and a entrance for them that they take when trying to gank.
for mid laners, you really dont want to ward those two pushes on the side of your lane. instead you want to ward behind them. your bot lane should already have the upper river bush warded for bot side river, so all you have to do is ward the lower river push for top side river. if you do this, and ward over the walls BEHIND those bushes(depending on which side you are on) as shown on the map then you will have all your blind spots covered. the reason you want to ward there is because it is also a common entrance/exit for junglers. EVEN IF they gank you from the side river bushes you will still see them because they have to pass over one of these spots to do so.
for top laners, again you want to ward where the jungle enters and exits when he is ganking or going to farm, for top lane this is always going to be the choke point by blue buff for bottom side, and the tri bush for top side. the reason you want to ward the side bush is because there is a plant right behind the ledge there that some people use when ganking. for top side there are 2 exits and entrances t hat junglers take, which is why you pink that tri bush because it covers both of those entrances/exits. placing a ward deeper wont do anything because one path is always going to not be covered. you can also technically ward by herald in the middle of the river, but no one does herald in low elo so its a wasted spot.
you also want to defend your wards if you are able. if the enemy support is actively dewarding with red trinket/control wards then you should be aggressively placing more and also taking out there wards, NEVER die for a ward, but atleast poke them away from it and show them that you will kill them for that ward. basically dont let let them clear a ward for free if you are nearby to defend it, if they do take it then you should atleast chunk them for 25% hp or more for taking it through pokes. if you are a melee champion top lane then its a bit more tricky than just poking them down obviously. if you are someone like darius tho then that should be a prime time to just go on them and dunk and punish them for not being by minions. if you warded one of the two entrances/exits like i said then you can disengage if you see the enemy jungler coming to help.
Hopefully people now understand how powerful and important warding is when it comes to defense. it will also allow you to be alot more aggressive in lane and assert your dominance aswell as significantly help split pushers out. not only that but it gives ALOT of options for the top lane to TP to if a fight breaks out, especially at dragon or bot lane where teamfights usually happen the most early on. herald is always baron (no pun intended) so no need to worry about him.
If you guys have any questions feel free to ask. i made this post because i am of the personal belief that simple warding alone will get you to climb out of silver/gold just by doing nothing except warding. after laning phase the way you ward changes drastically, so going into that would require an entirely different thread which i wont go into. just know tho that after lane phase your warding should change based on what the enemy is doing with one exception, baron and dragon will still need to be warded 24/7 ATLEAST 1 min before it spawns. people usually gather at baron/drag in the 1 min time before it starts to spawn. even if its been taken tho you should still be warding there since its a common parth people like to take when doing scuttles or just generally being bad and hanging around that spot to "bait" teams.
