10 Bans!!!!

League of Legends may increase to 10 bans per game

So I personally do not have a problem with 10 bans. Some think it is outrageous, some don't care, and others (like myself) think it is needed. There is now 132 Champions and every game we have to decided between 6 champions (3 per side) to ban? I may have failed math but 126 champions is still a very large pool to pull from.

A valid concern The Rift Herald and other players I know have brought up is that it would make it easy to target ban an entire Summoners champion pool.

Myself and Nicola66 have a solution for that. Each Champion is labeled whether its AssassinTalon , TankRammus , MageViktor etc. and what RIOT could (should) do when implementing this system is making there be a set amount of bans for each type of champion.

This way you don't have one person ban away all the mid laners or all the ADC's and so on.

Just my thoughts. Would love to hear other peoples opinions because this has been mine for sometime now!

EDIT: So I think people are hitting on the "Ban their whole champ pool" to literally, for a normal player you should be fine. Yes for pro's it could be a concern. HENCE me mentioning that you can only ban X amount of a champion type.

Beyond pro play, I don't see any way that a player could get his entire champion pool banned. It would be very peculiar, and to be honest, isn't the whole point of banning champions to limit the enemy's ability?

2 key arguments are brought up by ''anti-10-bans'' advocates

1) Too many bans; Champion pool draught and 2) Too many bans; Champ select would be too long.

Yet, very viable solutions are available.

1) As you mentioned, there could be class targeted bans, or simply lower champion IP prices to allow players to have larger champion pools. and **2) As a Rioter mentioned in a post, make people ban champs simultaneously, kinda like in the old champ select where people would pick champions in groups of 2. **

I don't think its that hard to find viable solutions when we sit down and actively look for them

The average player will not have to be worried about having their champion pool banned out from under them. This is a legitimate concern for pros, but Riot can always keep the ban number at six for them.

The biggest argument I hear is "Well what if they ban all of one class?". Ten bans is not enough to remove all of one class from the match, and that would take cooperation not only with your teammates but from the other team as well. Even if all ten people in that champ select wanted to ban a support, there would still be at least two supports left.

With 10 bans they will have to increase the number of champs somebody owns before playing ranked (not really an issue). And I like the idea of treating bans like champ select where it goes in pairs after the first. 1blue-2red-2blue-2red-2blue-1red

The problem with your solution is if you get people doing a bunch of stupid bans so you are unable to ban a currently high winrate champ because too many of it's role have been banned. Just leads to more frustration towards your team I think. I don't think banning an entire role will ever be an issue as there's at least 20 champs for each role.

The other issue is champ select times getting longer. What Riot could do is make it like blinds and everyone bans all at once.

Your ban system idea is quite good...on paper. I mean, it's cool and even I think it's fair myself, but, now imagine being in the juggernaut meta again, and only being able to ban 1. Remember those times where Fiora, Darius, Skarner, Morde and Garen could carry on their own almost 1v5. And consider too the incoming assassin meta where I see myself banning a pair of assassins xD If I had to give my personal opinion about the 10ban thingy, I dont really love it since Im a Lee main, and having 5 bans per team will end in 3 broken champs banned, 1 champ the guy banning hates most, and 1 ban for Lee. I can see that in the future. Unlike Lee Kappa
