[Item - Suggestion] Cloak of Phantasms

This is actually 3 item Suggestions, but Cloak of Phantasms is the core item so its in the title. The two other items are Assassin's Gambit, and Reflective Visage

The basic idea of this item set is to give tanks and melee assassins the ability to engage without getting blasted to bits by auto attackers before the engage 'er can even react. The item will have a cheap early game item with two upgrades for late game.

Cloak of Phantasms MELEE ONLY

+20 Armor +150 Health

Unique ACTIVE: 2 shadowy apparitions appear next to the champion. For the next 10 seconds, the shadows will absorb the next 2 basic attacks against this champion consuming a shadow from each attack (120 second cooldown).

Built From: item 1028 (400 gold) item 1029 (300 gold) Buyout cost of 250 gold TOTAL: 950 gold

Comments: The idea is that this would eliminate the ranged advantage in a 1v1 scenario and allow a melee to close the gap and do their own brand of damage. The effect can be somewhat mitigated by having another player, like a support there to help by auto'ing the target down. It is an item you buy if you're facing a ranged opponent in lane, or if you're a jungler who plans to gank a lot. This can be used both defensively and offensively so it has a lot of versatility. All these items are only Melee because that is the intended use, and could be abused by anyone else if the option was kept open; this would result in the item getting gutted or removed.

Assassin's Gambit MELEE ONLY

+30 Armor +200 Health +30 Attack Damage Unique: +10 Lethality Unique ACTIVE: 2 shadowy apparitions appear next to the champion. For the next 10 seconds, the shadows will absorb the next 2 basic attacks against this champion consuming a shadow from each attack (120 second cooldown). Scoring a Kill or Assist will reduce the current cooldown of the Active by 50%. ** Built from:**

Comments: The main difference is this item gets some extra AD and Lethality, but now also rewards successful kills and assists. A Good player will be able to use the effect more often.

Reflective Visage MELEE ONLY

+60 Armor +500 Health

Unique ACTIVE: 3 shadowy apparitions appear next to the champion. For the next 10 seconds, the shadows will absorb the next 3 basic attacks against this champion consuming a shadow from each attack (120 second cooldown). Every-time a shadow absorbs an attack, deal 40 (+3% of your total health) back to the attacker as magic damage.

Comments: This variant is for a tank, and also provides better protection in the active as well as a thornmail-like effect whenever it absorbs an attack. This would also be decent choice for a juggernaut as well, because the extra damage scales off your total health.

This proposal is not just because of the current meta, although it did somewhat spur the idea on, its about creating more options and choices overall. I believe each role needs to have both counters as well as workarounds. It is not good for the game if only hard counters exist, workarounds create interesting scenarios and empowers a player with the tools to succeed even when the deck is proverbially stacked against them.
