Better nerf .... Janna

Dear Riot, As a Janna main player I would like to give my nonprofessional opinion regarding the patch 7.19 and the hotfixes to it.

First of all, thank you for the Sacred Sword Janna. The skin is awesome. Her hair is black and it suits very well with the model. Finally she has a weapon, whose secret power is the Monsoon. The whole model reminds me of Ionia. She is just like an Ionia pacifist who helds a very special weapon but she is not allowed to use the blade.

Second of all, there are chromas. The green one is very gentle and it is preferable for me on the support role. I would love to use the red as a typical mage and other 2 are really nice, too.

And the patch 7.19 brings new concept to Janna. Janna is a pretty passive support (in my opinion the best defensive support in the game). She had really strong shield in the laning face, not so much dmg contribution by herself in combat, but she could provide opportunities to her adc. The patch general concept is to give Janna more aggressive style, by changing her kit a bit. I really loved the idea of the bonus movement speed as a resource to dmg. The extra general stats were a proof that Janna should focus on aa in lanes. Also, her W scaled with the same amount as her passive and it was adjusted so that she can use it more often, but the range was decreased.

Her Q got twisted, too. I do not find the change as necessary, since this ability will not be prioritized over the other 2, but faster hurricane looks great for harassment in lane. Eye of the storm’s cooldown was increased so that Janna player have to predict better.

I believe all the steps made with the release of the patch 7.19 were an improvement to the champion itself. After the release the first NERF came. Her movements speed, mana and health pool wee decreased. This way her trading potential was decreased (a bit). Despite this, the mana cost of the Zephyr was increased on every rank. That does not sounds logical, since you want to focus on making her lanin phase harder, not her whole game. The whole change was about giving Janna player more aggressive style, not disempowering the champion.

A day after you come with the statement “After earlier changes, Janna is pretty strong”. If you ask me Janna is becoming the new Irelia – playable for specific periods and nerfed because of these period. I do not find it productive. The new passive gives Janna barely 5 magic dmg to her aa on lvl 1, making the passive pretty useless. The adjustment was not made to balance her game (make her weak early game and stronger mid/late game), but to make her pretty weak early game. Furthermore, Eye of the Storm was nerfed twice for a week, reducing Janna’s overall effectiveness in the lane.

Please consider Janna players – as a champion she is easily countered. She can be shut down in team fights, so some of the changes are really unnecessary.

Janna still has 53.XX% winrate. She is still the best support in league.

She needs more nerf. Just like what Riot did to ahri. Make her winrate to 50% because that is balance according to many.

Then League just has a horrible balancing.
