Normals ELO?

Hello everyone. So I am wondering how I get my Normals ELO up? As wining games does not seem to be working. I win well over half my games anymore. Every now and then I will go on a 4 or 5 game losing streak. But not often. I win at least 65% of my games. Yet I am still being matched in the lowest level bracket EVERY game it seems. And it is not just me. I see people who are quite a bit better than me in my games every once in a while. But for the most part I am in a bracket of people who seem like they have no idea what they are doing. I admit I am not really good or anything. But I am good enough to carry most of my games. And I still can not seem to get out of this skill level. I was told just win games and I will be out of it in no time. But that is not seeming to be the case. I have a friend who is always matched with gold players. And he even admits I am better at the game than him. And he is being matched with all gold players every game damn near. I am confused.

Edit: please do not bring up my CS and say it has something to do with that. I am wining my games. And I know my CS has been bad lately. I spend most the game roaming. So I lose out on a lot.

It really does come down to winning games, it can just be a lot of them sometimes.

Normals are also filled with premades from broadly different skill levels, so bronze and diamond players end up on the same team and it can feel very stompy (in either a good or bad way) depending on who they happened to be matched against in their lane. In theory if you keep winning the average mmr of the games will trend upwards, even if it can sometimes not seem that way if you're facing bronze 5's (but a high mmr'd other player is dragging up the average).

You can bias things somewhat if you queue up with a bunch of high mmr players and win those matches though, as being queued with high mmr players means the average team mmr will be higher, meaning you'll face on average higher mmr opponents, which means bigger mmr gains for you if you manage to win. (By contrast queueing up with lower mmr people can make your mmr gains relatively small [although perhaps more reliable]).

Okay thanks! I think that is the reason when I queue with my friend who is new ((not even 30 yet)) there is always one high ranked player on our team. To balance it out. But I have also decided that your MMR does not mean a hell of a lot. As the Gold 1 player was worse than the not even level 30 yet friend. Like, it was pretty strange that he was gold with how he was playing. But maybe just a bad game and all. IDK. He was missing almost every skill shot and making REALLY bad calls.

What your experiencing comes from the misconception that being higher-rated will increase the chance of playing with and against better players.
