The Real Monster Here
The fearless mastery. It's so innocuous. 10% bonus AR/MR + a tiny flat amount per level, it was advertised. Let's take a look at a Tank using it first.
250 Armor, 150 MR. Lvl 15. Let's say this is all bonus AR/MR for the calculations. Meaning it gives 25 Armor and 15 Magic Resist for a mere 2 seconds. Wait, need to add that tiny flat amount now, which is…
30 AR/ 30 MR aka
.
Oh.
Seriously, why wasn't this sold as 2*lvl Flat resistances, plus 'a tiny amount of scaling on bonus AR/MR'? This isn't a tank mastery, this is a squishy anti-assassination mastery.
Now let's look at exhibit B, Fearless mastery on an ADC. Let's say that there's a support nearby, who uses the Locket Active on said ADC. Let's presume Lvl 11, typical mid-game stats with Caitlyn, level scaling MR blues, flat Armor yellows.
1646 HP+Shields, 99.9 AR / 76.8 MR. Before Itemization, or whatever the support's kit is going to do for protection.
"It's only two seconds." Yeah, but assassins generally have a maximum timeframe of 3 seconds. Sure, you can poke the shield off with a mage, but it's hidden power, and it's extremely deceptive in how good it actually is.
