Xayah Buff? Nerf? Balanced?

First off I would like to say she is the most fun i have had playing league in a long time. She just feels so fluid and is an all in champion which is akin to how I like to play. Sadly though typically when a champion is fun Riot nerfs them latter and they become a lot less fun because fun is OP.

Anyway here are my thoughts on her. She is strong right now mostly against people in lane that are not aware of her feathers. If the enemy knows how to play around her feathers in lane she can be a struggle as her feathers are over a third of her damage. So basically her laning phase kind of depends on how aware the enemy is of her and her feathers more so than any other adc.

She is also most likely the best ADC at team fights. Her ability to pump out feathers and then pull them through a whole team rooting almost all of them is very very satisfying. On top of this she can go invulnerable insuring she gets to stay in the team fight longer unlike other ADCs that tend to get focused and die at the start of the team fight.

So if you ask me she trades the laning phase for a strong team fight presence. I mean trade because like i said before if the enemy team in lane is aware of her and her feathers it makes laning kind of tough on her as she relies pretty heavily on those feathers.

So what are your thoughts on the new ADC Xayah.

I think she's fairly balanced, but that people will still be calling for nerfs in a couple weeks because she has invulnerability and backloaded damage, and people hate fighting those.

I think that she is kind of meh. Like, she is actually pretty bad when she misses her e on people, so if someone is aware of how her kit works, they can easily juke out on that ability. The other thing is that I think she is pretty bad from behind, just like every other ADC, so winning lane is sort of important, and with a more weak laning phase due to the e being hard to land against skilled opponents, she feels very lackluster to have on your team. I will say however, that when she is ahead, she is really ahead. Her w in my opinion is the best part of her kit, and will let you dish out so much damage so fast. I don't think she will need changes for awhile. I think that she will be in a better spot than Jhin was on his release.

There's no point in making a thread like this for at least a few weeks to a month lmao

Shuyin1784/21/2017, 5:55:56 PM2 votes

She hasn't even been out a week. Why do people do the "Balanced or overpowered" talk when nobody even knows how to properly play as them or against them yet.

These kind of threads should not happen until either their price drop or 2 weeks after release.

Very strong and fun adc just gotta know how to kite and when to pull in your feathers for the root/damage.

They might want to nerg her e.

ADC5LUT4/22/2017, 10:33:54 AM2 votes

Her laning phase is just abysmal in my opinion... She has 0 kite potential and almost any champion out speeds her and can just start wailing on her... Lining up her E against anyone have competent is nearly impossible... idk I might try maxing W first since getting her feathers out is so hard. However if she can make it through the laning phase she will pretty much destroy team fights...

She's not good without rakan and she has 0 kite. It depends on how you build your item. Btw lucian and twitch can counter her

Gregor Gysi4/21/2017, 3:08:36 PM2 votes

Both are going to receive harsh nerfs, Rakan will probably be the one who get's the largest part of his nerfs in the beginning while Xayah's nerfs will come bit by bit - just like it was with Kalista and Lucian.

Experience has taught that ADC's are generally perceived as weak/useless in the beginning unless they are super OP (see Jinx, although she was more straightforward than Lucian and Kalista and thus easier to adapt to). Xayah feels already really good so it's safe to assume that she is very very strong.

nerfs. both of them.

they sit at exact 50% winrate. thats actually unacceptable for a champion no one could possibly have any practise with, let alone master yet. so it looks like in time when people get better at them, their winrate will definitely climb into stupid territory.

especially rakjan whos kit has a lot more potential.

theyre sitting at 20% play rate too. like everyone is picking them up and immediately doing well with them. thats definitely an indicator that theyre overtuned.

Shes overpowered. The players that think shes bad are garbage and don't build her right. 1 build and she 1v5's no problem blinds anything doesn't matter. She wins. Shes a casting adc that all her "right click" is casting. Nothing else. Get crit you win.

Things she needs nerfs on

Her E Shouldn't root AND shouldn't crit.

R no invulnerability

She shouldn't be able to build life steal.

(One of these. Or at least E and Life Steal.)

I've only gotten 4 games as her so far, 2 of which were with a Rakan so I can't say with certainty whether she is strong or not, but from what I've played SO FAR (2 wins, 2 losses)..

A lot of her damage simply comes from people not expecting it.

People stand there without moving just auto attacking you and then realize once you E "oh she had feathers"

It's the same concept as Twitch. The longer you fight him the more damage he will do because of his poison stacks. The longer you fight Xayah the more feathers she gets and the more damage her E will do. Short bursts of damage are great against her and anyone with mobility will dodge her feathers. She needs time to set up before she can chunk you.

I'm currently a mastery 5 xayah rn. But I feel like her Bladecaller ability does too much damage and her damage late game is actually pretty weak

Aljonau5/2/2017, 6:29:32 PM1 votes

I have not much experience with her yet.. but as far as I can tell for an adc she is relatively strong vs asassins and relatively weak vs tanks. Both due to her ability damage and her short range.

Time.

Titanium705/2/2017, 6:58:43 PM1 votes

In her current state she needs some nerfs - while her zoning and waveclear could be considered annoying but fine those mixed with her Es DMG is to much.

Someone who tends to build like an ADC should not delete a whole team by a mere Q-R-E. I really like Xayah (Mid more than actual ADC becaue of her MASSIVE Levelscaling) but her DMG just feels not right from time to time. Especially since you can always use the E point blank to hit your opponent with EVERYTHING no matter how bad you placed your feathers before.

That's why I thinl they should nerf her across the Kit and compensate this by giving E a CD refund mechanic or just a shorter CD, because once this is down, even with full CDR you're screwed most of the time. She just does not feel really healthy if you compare her with E on/off CD. ^^'

I play her mid lane lol

TyrekGoldenspear4/21/2017, 3:13:38 PM1 votes

I'd want to play against/support a Xayah a couple of times before I give my verdict.

Apocalypsic4/21/2017, 3:47:43 PM1 votes

I enjoy playing her mid with an armor pen build. Xayah and Cleaver stacks is actually a match made in heaven.

FiddlesOnTheRoof4/21/2017, 4:06:05 PM1 votes

I'm not quite sure yet. I'm 9-1 on her, and stomping lane pretty hard. Always hard to tell if she's that strong, or they're that unaware of her kit. This is why riot doesn't usually nerf/buff a champion for a few weeks. It often takes everyone a while to learn them. I DO think that her and Rakan's unique interactions, while cool, are not fair. Her W is so much stronger when he's around.

Arakadia4/21/2017, 11:58:17 PM1 votes

I think she needs higher mana costs early on. She is supposed to have a weak early, especially for how good her team fighting is, but she can poke, clear waves, and hit multiple enemies really easily without too high of mana costs.

Other than that, her terrible chase potential makes her pretty balanced in my eyes.

chocoholicvampir4/22/2017, 10:02:01 AM1 votes

she does not trade anything to boot she wrecks everything in teamfights laning phase etc not only that but with her feathers layed down it's a minefield if you want to stay alive you have to stay at your turret and her feathers take no time at all to lay down and they should waste away much earlier. not fair to play against i tried many bot lane combos with my friend and she just claws through armor as if it was not there![slayer-jinx-unamused]

jackjiraf4/23/2017, 2:21:50 AM1 votes

I feel like she needs a small buff she just does not do dmg with out crit and she is not good with out rakan but i really love her ive played 11 games as her so far and she is a fun champ with a high skill cap but i just really hope she gets a small buff
