Regarding 6.13 update and "making success as a Support easier to observe"

[[Prefacing this by saying while I've thought of all 3 of these on my own, I've also taken a lot of the ideas from other articles that have been posted in the past & expanded on them, most notably this thread by @Drogeist]]

Last week, @RiotScarizard posted patch 6.13 notes, "the one where supports get to have nice things, too." Reading through the notes about which support champions got buffed was fine, but I was hoping they actually added something that focuses more on the red underlined sentences, which I think could be done by some updates to the Match History system. The updates I propose would not just be interesting for Support players to review, everyone in the game should be able to take away some cool info if these were added.

Scarizard correctly points out that the influence of a Support player is hard to appreciate compared to the fed mid laner with 18 kills, or the tanky top that took the most HP damage, or the ADC that had the highest CS... really all supports have to review in the match history is their number of assists and their ward placement/destruction stats. Granted those are keys parts of playing support, but those are also 2 stats that everyone else on the team should be aiming to make as high as reasonably possible as well. Yes, Match History does have a "Damage Healed" line which is great, but clearly that isn't relevant to all supports.

I would love to see the following lines added to Match History:


--Damage Shielded-- Exactly as it sounds, there should be a number that represents the amount of damage absorbed by a Shield that you either placed on your allies or yourself. Not just random shields, but the amount of damage that protected against enemy damage. This would range from a Thresh lantern, Malphite passive, item 3190 active, Shen ult, etc... Wouldn't imagine this would be too hard to implement as it seems pretty similar to the already existing "Damage Healed."

--CC Percent/Time Inflicted-- Of my three recommendations, this is my favorite and probably the most difficult to create an algorithm for. I've seen this posted at least a dozen times on old old board archive posts from years ago but it never gets traction. The thing is, this stat would BY NO MEANS _only _ be interesting for Supports to review in aftergame lobbies. How about the Sejuani jungler that gets their entire team fed off ganks by simply being an unstoppable CC train of stun and slows? Or the fed Ekko that applies his passive often and lands a dozen key W's to lock down the enemy? I really don't know how it would be represented, but I imagine it calculated by factoring out the percentage of the ability's slow and the time of that slow.

_Example: _ Zilean E slowing enemy for 85% for 2.5 secs, and his double Q bomb stun of 100% CC for 1.5 secs... add up all of them for the whole game and average them (?maybe, I hate math) and you have your 'CC Inflicted' score... Maybe displayed as like how many seconds you would've had someone at 100% CC if that makes sense, like a half second snare would show as a CC Inflicted score of 0.5?

--Damage Inflicted to Structures-- To keep the non supports happy! I've always been confused why this isn't a trackable statistic since damaging structures is ultimately the whole point of the game. This one is for split pushers, ADCs, maybe even Ziggs with his satchel charge & passive autoattack. This could also be used as a stat for lower division ADCs people to review after a lost game to notice that 'Wow I really didn't contribute to pushing objectives to win at all.'

Final notes... I am aware they're working on the Alpha version of the new client that will have the Match History stats built into it, but per this thread from a couple days ago, the stats haven't been changed at all yet and actually still include 'Stealth Ward Placed' as a line (nonexistent since Preseason), so that could definitely be removed & replaced at this point.

As a bonus request for support satisfaction, it'd be neat if they could add tracking to who contributed an assist to each of the kills on the 'Team Gold Advantage' graph in the Match History so supports (and everyone) could see where/when they helped secure kills.

Finally I'll wrap up with a quote from Drogeist that sums up my thoughts on why this is relevant to Scarizard's patch note comments: > Stats can't completely define all roles in the game because LoL is so much more complex than that. But I have no doubt that the addition of these stats would help people evaluate their performance on certain champions and give players (especially tanks and supports) more to be proud of at the end of the game.

Comment/criticize, but I feel like all of these would be great additions! To the people that say it's a pointless stat, it's just a 'pointless' as the damage do-ers looking at 'Most Damage to Champs' in that technically no high stats actually guarantee that you played well, it just helps satisfy everyone's desire to feel they contributed.
