PSA - Secure Your Lane Before You Roam

I see this happen quite frequently, and it's been costing me some ranked games - mid laners or top laners who push the wave a little bit and then leave the lane to roam with the jungler. This is not ok. For starters, if you're going to roam, you need to either kill your lane opponent or have an overwhelming amount of minions pushed to their tower to force them to deal with them. But when your enemies return to the lane or get it back under control, you need to return to the lane, not continue roaming while they cram minions into your tower. Ideally, laners shouldn't begin roaming unless they're incredibly fed or the tower is down, both of which mean you have better pressure than your enemies. I see many laners who start roaming way too early or who don't secure their lane and end up losing their lanes because of this. This is an especially bad scenario when assassins in mid allow their lane to fall, because mid is arguably one of the most important lanes due to its shorter length. So TL:DR - Don't roam unless your lane is secure.
