its one thing of 20+ champs from multiple roles can counter you,, but even THEN u should have counterplay in your kit.

the enemy should be able to itemize against you if your fed to stand a better chance

certain champions should hardcounter other champions... but you shouldn't hardcounter every champion except 10 champions

proper countplay needs windows of opportunity, and having mistakes being punishable.

if u mess up.. and your not fed... you shouldnt WIN a trade... if the enemy can outplay you.. and u dont specially hardcounter them.. you shouldn't WIN a trade unless again your crazy fed.

you shouldn't have multiple get out of jail free card for every possible scenario.

you champion whould have a role. and they should be good at what they do.. and thier should be other champs that are good at shutting them down.. yur champions should have toher champs that go even with them and they should have itemization that can help combat them.

thats what "counterplay" is

now.. becuase posting specific champion skills and showing why the LACK counterplay will offend some of u mains...

lets talk about a champion that HAS counterplay and lets talk about when said champion DIDN'T have counterplay

and because this is my main.. this makes it easy

this is Nidalee

her entire kit revolves around hitting you with a spear before she can do anything

so counterplay 1... is dodge the spear

upon landing a spar nidalee has the option to pounce in with a unit targeted pounce yet she is also a very squishy... so poucing in at the wrong time means certain death.

such as if they enemy has a CC and can burst u down ... or the enemy just have more than 2k hp so u cant burst THEM down.

every time nidalee lands a spear she chooses to pounce in or not.. if she chooses wrong? she dies

this gives her countplay in the champions that can pick against her, nidalee really cant kill tanks or bruisers.. so pick those makes u very safe vs her.

squishy champions are less safe but can still easily stop by dodging said skillshot or by grouping.

back when nidalee could lane... (post 4.10) she had the opportunity to CS very easily for free. but at the price of doing in in melee range, and with your main CS ability also being your escape tool of pounce

if your champions can not do any of these things.. u can always summoner 4 her spear.. this is not ideal.. but it CAN save you. despite common belief although nidalee DOES has a low spear cooldown. she doesn't have the mana to support throwing spears on cooldown

if u do get hit by a spear.. you can even flash away while she is nid pounce or before she she cant get in range.

there are MANY options to deal with her.. across every role.

so in what area does my main LACK counterplay?

well by herself.... she always has counterplay in pretty much every situation.. but as a champion who relies on landing a skillshot to do any damage.. he is very heavily rewarded if she can actually HIT it.. this means if her team has the opprotinty to play around her and set up CC to guarentee said spear can land... pretty much all her counterplay goes out the window

this was one reason why putting her in the jungle was extremely problematic when they let her in 5.1 as she was balanced becuase her laners could SEE her.. and unless your jungler had every good cc, getting a guaranteed spear land was very few and fair between in the early to mid lane.

there are also items that completely negate her kit, grab a item 3102, if u get hit then u still are safe

think of the champions u play. what is thier counterplay..

does they have an entire class or role that can counter them?

are they punished for making mistakes or do they have a way out even if they make them. how many get out of jail free cards do they have do they need to set up before using an ability? do the have an ability that can easily miss do they have clear windows of counterplay? if they do have windows of counterplay... do they have other things in their kit to completely negate all those windows or do all those windows only overlap for a split second. do they have to manage a resource ? if not.. do they have downside for not having to are there any specif items or itemzation that u can use to completely negate thier kit.. if they do.. doing grabbing said item cause a detrimental impact on the person buying it. (such as having to forgo mana regen) do u have items that counter the items that counter you?

obviously u dont need to have ALL of these to have counterplay.

but you should have one or two at the very minimum. if you don't.. then maybe u need to think if your champion actually has counterplay
