Riot: Please Be More Careful About Unintended Nerfs

The infinity edge change will definately help diversify ad itemization bot and will be a good change there. But (obviously) infinity edge can be bought by any champion, not just ads, and although riots balance team seems to continue to not make this connection they just mindlessly nerfed champions that build infinity edge in places other than bottom lane. As one of the few people who is playing gangplank at diamond elo it is really barely viable already. I am probably going to just have to go play riven or irelia now and just be part of the crowd playing the same champions every single game.

Its not like he is going to be even remotely close to the meta champions anyway at least give gangplank enough buffs to counteract the infinity edge nerf. The same holds for all the other already not top-tier champions riot poops on. It already sucks when your mains get nerfed when they deserved it. Its absolutely awful when your main gets nerfed when other champions that are obviously already far stronger are untouched.

inb4 no one from riot ever actually seeing or understanding this message.

IMO Gangplank needs work he has needed work for a long time, and this might be the kinda nerf that makes him more able to be balanced in the future.

I think it's less they didn't realize it, and more they don't care. Riot has made it pretty clear that for the large majority of the time, their balance changes will be focused on the 1%ers (aka LC$ players), and enforcing the meta they have established for their professional games.

They simply don't care about underplayed champions, off builds, or anything like that. It's all about LC$ now my friend, get on the wagon or get out with what little sanity you still can.

Riot isn't particularly interested in making GP good. He's not a healthy champion -- when he's good, he's good because obnoxious Q poke.

Riot has GP on their rework list, and until that rework happens, they're not going to push competitive balance for him.

In general, Riot doesn't give compensation buffs or nerfs for itemization changes. Morello's got a bigger nerf than IE, but we're not seeing a round of mage buffs to go with it. Champions adapt to item changes, and Riot only steps in when it's become obvious they can't.
