I've just discovered I'm dogshit at mid

I tried champions with slightly above average skillfloors but high skillcaps such as Corki, Zilean, Ziggs, Xerath etc. and fail miserably. I do not like stuff like Morgana and so I wonder, what mids would help me learn the role better? I was thinking maybe Annie since she has easy CSing with Q and more zone control than a lot of stuff I play. For example, playing Zilean vs Fizz is a nightmare because his ult.'s lower CD than mine and if he EQs me, I'm already nearly forced to ult. I just get zoned hard. This is a problem I often have. The biggest though is that when I do have lane control, I just die to ganks a lot. Annie would probably solve this since she has her E and also will generally be with the wave closer to her side. If you play Ziggs, you will naturally push, same with Zilean and Xerath. You do it for lane pressure and also because if it gets under turret, you're going to have a hard time farming. I suppose Kassadin could be an option too but I've always felt that I was not relevant fast enough in the games.

Ward a lot and stay near where your wards are so they cant attack from the dark side of the lane.

When your minions go up to enemy turret you don't have to follow them. If enemy shoves back you won't lose any cs and if they freeze you can roam.

As for champs to learn it, Annie, Anivia, Veigar, or Orianna should work off of the top of my head.

True story... We are ALL Dogshit mids... as well as any other role... We are all terrible at this game, that's what makes it so interesting!

You could always pick champs with hardcore waveclear and are a little more defensive. Anivia Malzahar Diana TwistedFate Orianna

Diana is, in my opinion, one of the best champs to learn the game with and become a better player. She teaches you mana management, wave control, when to go in and when to sit back, PLUS she has great waveclear and scales really well into the mid/late game. Sure, she has some iffy matchups and no real escapes, but that's all part of the learning experience.

TwistedFate is also a great mid laner to learn as he has insane waveclear, and your semi-global ult can cause games to snowball.

Don't think of mid as "I have to destroy my laner", think of it as "I farm and get a good CS count for items and gank my other lanes when I can roam".

Easiest mid is probably Malzahar with his braindead ultimate surpression and spell shield passive.

Annie is the freelo "i just wanna win and climb" pick. Also Vlad is fairly safe although cs'ing can be difficult to get used to.
