If you're going to make people place in Silver, can you please reset their MMR to Silver level?

Look, if you want to placebo the fuck out of people to fix the constant complaints about trashies in ranked, you can't. Anyone smart enough to play ranked in the first place will see right through what you're trying to do. Start everyone at Iron MMR and Iron rank, or do nothing because doing one or the other is basically pure placebo meant to pull wool over peoples' eyes. I find that dishonest, Riot.

Currently, there's an issue going around where lots of people are rightfully complaining about being placed in, like, Silver. This is especially bad in this case because the people still have their MMRs from previous seasons, meaning they'll just have to constantly grind and be victim to God knows what other bullshit due to their rank not reflecting their MMR.

People want a hard reset, so can you actually do that for once instead of having me be placed in Silver while I'm fighting Platinum players?

Or simply remove the rank entirely. And make MMR visible as iron/bronze/silver/gold/plat/etc based on the MMR number. Remove placements and protection altogether obviously.

Only way to make the system honest. And make people's rank actually REFLECT something.

Cause right now, if we got a gold player with gold MMR and a silver player with plat MMR, who is higher in the fucking ladder? The silver player obv is higher % of players BUT the goldie gets the rewards in the end of the season. Which is fucked up beyond imagination.

OR keep the cosmetic rank (it's only a cosmetic it means nothing anyway right now) BUT remove placements and LP cap, and people move from one tier to the next by achieving the MMR of the above tier and spending an amount of LP.

So when you see someone in silver with 1000LP you know they hardstuck AF. (maybe add some kind of reward for ranked wins to make them feel better)

I agree with your statement, but if you were silver 1 in preseason, you're going to be placed approx 7-8 tiers below. I was plat4 50LP and placed Silver 1 2LP.

So if you are Silver 1, you will get pushed down to Iron 1.

Having a HARD reset and having everyone start at Iron 4 would be terrible. You would have actual Iron players playing against actual Masters players. How is a hard reset better than what they have here? And btw they did semi-hard reset EVERYONE.

Hard reset is definitely not the way to go. That would literally throw any form of fair matchmaking out of the window.

Make everyone Plat and lower place Iron and everyone Diamond+ place plat automatically. I honestly do see why Challenger players run into high Plats in their placements it just seems like there would be a big skill gap.

Best way to do it is a reset to mmr every season but have everyone in gold placed gold 4 with the same mmr, plats in plat 4 same mmr etc... Removes the need to play ranked for those who just want the rewards which will make a ton of people happy and we get fair matchmaking at seasons start. No one loses but riot... So guess we'll never see that.
