The problem with Twitch having his "invisibility" removed.

First of all, he's my favorite champion. For those of you who haven't caught it, my name is even a pun for him. I've been playing Twitch since... season 2? Maybe 1. I'd like to say I still stick by the "rework" wasn't anything but a ton of nerfs from 2011 or so, but you balanced them out by increasing his raw numbers enough to see decent play.

As a twitch, I enjoy sneaking around the feet of enemies. He's a rat, and this is what they do. It not only fits the character, but it also allows for him to balance out his squishy nature. With pink wards becoming control wards, getting a huge buff to what they do, and their lessened cost, they are going to be used -a lot-. This means that he's already getting an indirect nerf to him. I do understand the frustration of playing against a good Twitch, but it's all mind games. Changing him to having camouflage instead of invisibility is removing all aspects of a thought process. Currently I check the enemies for pinks. I have to watch for pinks around the area. I have to keep warded up because an enemy jungle sneaking in with a pink can make or break a play, considering they can be placed instantly, and during teamfights it's seriously hard to figure out if they can see me or will be able to. Though it is possible, this is the definition of skill and awareness. Now with a radius that enemies can see me, I simply have to walk around areas and avoid enemies. Furthering a passive playstyle that Riot seems to want to tone down at very least, and I agree with.

Twitch has always been a very unique kind of ADC. He's an assassin ADC, and I do think he has some flaws that can be abused to be overpowered. These issues are connected to his stealth, it's connected to him being a hypercarry. If anything his stealth currently allows for the enemy to counterplay that. Now I'm just going to be ultra safe, avoiding any chance of detection until I can rip apart the enemy team. It's just not a fun playstyle. Twitch was actually balanced when he had a 60 second stealth on his Q. It just was a bit too much, and I understand that. While it was fun for me, it was absurd to be able to scout everything with one Q.

Lastly, as of currently with good mechanical play and game knowledge I can utilize my Q for escapes. After this change I cannot. I no longer get a movement speed bonus in stealth if I'm not chasing an enemy, and I can't use stealth to avoid being hit. A good player could use skillshots while I was stealthed, and yet again, it was a mental game, which was fun and felt rewarding. Now getting close to me is the counter to it, and considering I have no gap closer or escape, in the league of dashes, I'm surely not going to feel balanced. I also have no hard CC, just a slow, but again, everyone has hard CC and gap closers and movement speed increases, so that slow really isn't good in many situations and is hard countered by champions alone.

Just as a side note, I think if they want to give an instant stealth with a free jump anywhere like Shaco has, this might be a viable change. Though it still wouldn't feel very fun, it'd fix many of the issues that come up with the change. At this point, I don't know why Riot hasn't just removed Twitch and created a new champion. Stealth is his core. His ult used to be, but that was changed so much in 2011 that it's not even what design planned on. He looks nothing like he used to. He sounds nothing like he used to. It's just not Twitch anymore, and I've been hanging onto his one thread of the champion I used to love, which is stealth. Please, reconsider this change.

I'd happily discuss numbers and theory crafting with anyone who isn't flaming, flaming I just ignore. I hope you all have a good day, thanks for reading.Twitch summoner 3 item 3070

I'll really miss scouting bushes, walking into all 5 enemy champs, and then noping out before stealth wears off

Great to finally find another player who actually cares/ noticed the Twitch changes. Sure, we've got the big 4 and a bunch of minor updates; but for Twitch, this change is MASSIVE. Honestly, I don't think they can change his stealth to invisibility without keeping it almost exactly the same as it is now. Invisibility is supposed to be in-combat, small time stealth; but Twitch has always needed/ used the long duration. With this in mind, camo was the only way to go. Unfortunately, like you've mentioned, he's losing quite a bit of what makes him Twitch due to this change. Personally, he just needs a lot more compensation for it to be a fair nerf.

For starters; the -10% movement speed during Ambush needs to be bumped back up to 20%. Then work with either the 30% or possibly 40% movement buff towards champions. Right now Twitch works by sneaking either directly on top of the target (impossible now) or behind the target to block off their escape (significantly more difficult with camo), so he definitely needs a more effective way to get to people which we're losing.

After that, I'd highly suggest reverting the 20% attack speed nerf on his Q or compensate him in some other way.

Right now, with these changes, it looks like Riot were under the impression that Twitch was extremely overpowered and needed immediate large nerfs to control him (which I'm unsure of whether or not they believe this). Worst part is that because of Twitch's unpopularity I probably won't get many discussions or even some thought processes from Riot to confirm any of this/ get it looked at.

Right now Twitch is my all time favorite champion. I could play this rat until the end of league and not get bored; so to see him being hit this hard is just heartbreaking...

I think it's a good change since the longer stealth means sneakier roaming

Probably my only gripe here would be the worse MS when you aren't chasing someone, but it's called ambush for a reason I guess.

Idk what I'll do without ghostblade AS though

Agreed with OP and well put. Everyone who replied here needs to up vote his post. I was the first vote. No amount of number compensation will fix removing an entire playstyle - Twitches playstyle. Jungle Twitch would be the only style to go even parity with these changes, but that's such a rare role and a very dangerous one to play that it doesn't deserve this consideration. I think basically this registers as no or little consideration. Lane twitch cannot suffer this nerf. He has no escape. His lane engage is predicated on gaining proximity and playing around vision. To make him visible close up and SLOWER if disengaging obliterates his game style. He doesn't need to be grouped into a category that made Rengar receive camo. Twitch isn't like Eve or Rengar because he's not primarily roaming around avoiding detection. He's laning a huge and critical part of the game , not jungling. This makes the character way less fun. That's the point of the game too I believe, after watching the intern's Riot Origins video.
