Is the punishment system negatively effecting the game?

Disclaimer: I'm not trying to justify toxicity.

Hallo guys, I made this post cause I wanted to talk about toxicity and the tribunal interaction with it.

I feel like the tribunal system as a whole does nothing against toxicity. Why you may ask? Simple, the system punishes toxicity but it does not help prevent it. What I mean by that is, the system could be changed in a way so that it actually HELPS the people that are toxic become less toxic.

How is the tribunal system negatively effecting the game you might ask?

• Encourages people to buy accounts

• Decreases playerbase

• Potentially decreases EU talent

Positive effects?

• Some marketing value for Riot ? ( people buying more skins)

Overall the system doesnt actual help decrease toxicity. The fucker that got banned will just buy a new account to be toxic and grief in some other elo/team.

This is how it goes. You first start playing league your first time leveling up an account new things new stuff whatever. You play the game for years and then you fall rockbottom and you start flaming people from left to right and sooner or later your account receives a perma ban but you cant be bothered lvling up AGAIN so you buy does 3 bucks alt accounts from a site. You rank up again someone trolls but since this account holds no value, no history, no hard work, the player starts to intentionally feed and troll on the alt account and then buys another 3 buck account. I can talk from experience a friend that I know got 7 bans in 7 days. Cause lets face it, how many people who got a perma ban reformed? It took tyler 1 freaking 25 bans ( if not more) and a indefinite ban to reform and hes a freaking streamer, so wat does that say about the casual player who doesnt give a shit about others?

Solutions? When I was a kid AQworlds was super popular in my neighborhoud I played it alot and everytime you said something remotely toxic it would mute you for 5 min ? It was a habit of mine saying bitch and fuck alot but eventually as to not get muted 24/7 I stopped typing those words.

When the punishment system attacks it locks things like loot but that is something the player is getting for free thus its not like hes missing out on something. I'd say start by locking gamemodes. Being toxic in ranked? Ranked locked for a week? Toxic in normals? Normals locked for a week.

If they are being toxic lower their dev, disable their chat for 2 weeks.

A punishment is making someone play support.

The only time the current tribunal system is a punishment is when the main account gets banned after that its just simply buying cheap accounts from some bot site.

Someone who is d5 on their banned main is gonna get d5 on their alt account sooner or later.

Again im not trying to justify toxicity but lets not pretend like the tribunal system is actually making the game enviremont healthier.
