Why people are forced to play support

This is coming from someone who considers themselves a support main (granted the highest I ever got is gold 3). What makes support players frustrated and not want to play the role anymore is when you are trying to climb in ranked and because your main build which you are good with is all utility so any chances of fighting or pushing are gone is completley dependant on your team, if you have an adc that always walks into enemies and misses prime opertunities for fights then it gets frustrating. Sure there are high damage supports like brand and zyra, but if you just want to play good old utility support like taric with item 3401 item 2045 item 3110 item 3111 item 3060 item 3190 item 3022 then you can eat a stack of poo poo pancakes if your adc is "good enough" to be their rank. I dont do good at damaging roles. When i do utility is where im best. There are no incentives to help people who just want to do good utility in the lower ranks.

Pretty much.. its duo or failure for a support.

You should see my struggles at the end of last season.. I though well I should be able to get to gold from silver 2 in a few months.. I got demoted (After getting to 99 LP) then I rage quit from ranked... and I am a support main it takes a lot to get me angry.

It wasn't that I wasn't playing play making supports or whatever it was a split between Nami and Alistar most of the time. They are not passive not really anyway. I have always struggled with mage style supports but I gave Karma and Morgana a try anyway with mixed results. still built with utility in mind just more AP than the other two.

Actually most of the time it wasn't even my adc that was the problem (With a few notable exceptions) Top lane 0-3 mid lane 0-3 bot lane 0-0 or maybe 1-0-1.. We just couldn't win the lane anywhere are hard as our teammates lost thiers.

Anyone that says you can't carry as a support just isn't playing the role well enough. I remember watching aphro play his placement games on a smurf last year, and he hard carried every game by setting up plays for his teams.
