Sooo... I'm beginning to think Elo hell exists

Yes yes. I know what you all are going to say. "Get better, It's a mindstate, you think you're better than you are" This that and the third. But really though, I'm beginning to think it exists. No I'm not stuck in bronze or silver and I actually hit Plat 4 promos quite easily earlier on this season. But I went on a bad losing streak (Like 9 straight, it was bad) and THIS is where my 'elo hell' theory begins.

I'm back at plat 5 now, and the quality of my games are NOTHING, like they were before. Most of these games are over by 7 minutes (All of you have had those games, where your jungler just runs into the enemy team a couple times or support refuses to stop dying) and yeah there is the "I'm trying to make plays and dying" type of game. I have no qualms with that type of feeding. But it's more like "Run into the team and spam laugh" type of feeding. People are way more volatile. Any little thing will stop them from playing. Even if you are grossly fed or not grossly fed, this isn't even about winning the game anymore.

I'm thinking because I'm on a losing streak, it matches me with others on a losing streak or a general decline. So this causes more tilting players and bad quality games.

This isn't just on my side either. Even when I WIN, it's usually because of the same reason. I haven't had a good game in a while.

At the bottom of all the 5th divisions is a group players that really dont belong in their tier. Its very hard to drop from a tier and there is this cespool of, lets call them unhappy, players. Thats why promo series to move up a division are generally so difficult. I noticed this from bronze to silver and also silver to gold. Never gotten to gold myself, but thats where I always hit the roadblock. At least its arguable that being in plat, like you are, that those players actually climbed there at some point. Where, say silver 5 players, a good chunk of those just had really lucky placement series. Check your games on one of the third party sites, I bet you will notice a trend where the plat 5's are the players that are having problems and the gold 1's are the good players.

I would be interested in this. I don't play ranked personally right now. However I experienced this with aram. 9 game losing streak and a downward spiral that followed. I had been playing with gold/plat players every game, than I got matched with bronze and silver after that streak.

I think it relates to the soft reset at the beginning of the season because I dropped like a rock for some reason. With aram you can get terrible losing streaks because of champ comps being random. I find its been a huge struggle getting back to games where the team plays as a team. Its just aram but its frustrating to experience it. I wish the way we are matched with other people was more transparent. All that I have to gage performance of if someone should do well is looking up rank outside of the game which doesn't offer much transparency.

With MMR I have not found a way to look it up for aram. Also the way MMR is calibrated is not transparent... Is it wins? is it kills? Is it by role? Is it by something else? Does it take into account adc vs tank performance? Those things should be clear in my opinion. What raises MMR if you do well but your team fails?

Thats just me if anyone has answers to this I would love it. So far I have not found info that is definitive enough.
