What would be the best nami build for season 7?

I seem to be doing just fine with my build but I always feel like I could be doing a little better in the build that I have.

Currently I'm just building item 3107 item 3117 item 3027 item 3003 item 2301 item 3100 item 3341 and not in that order if that matters to some of you. is there anything you would improve upon or am I just a little paranoid about build choices?

May the stars guide you

I always do item 3092 item 2045 item 3107 item 3190 item 3117

Last item is optional but I tend to go item 3222 . I'm not really a big fan of item 3504

Best is subjective on multiple factors. Elo for starters. What you can get away with in low elo often will not fly in high elo. For example i'm a huge fan of AP Sona. While that's fun and works fine against lower skilled players, especially in normals, it's not advisable the higher one climbs, which brings on my next point. Is this more for normals or for ranked?

In normals, a more aggressive build like yours is fine. It's a more casual mode with wiggle room to play around with builds. When it comes to ranked, there will be skilled players who will tak advantage of a more ap build. It does raw damage, but at the sacrifice of your safety. In no way a discouragement. I run glass cannon Sona often enough in normals full aware of the consequences.

With both those in mind, something to consider is what the overall community is building and their success rate.

Higher than platinum you'll see the conservative utility build. Now in lower elo, you'll note she's built roughly the same way.

If majority is any indicator of "best", she's being built utility over damage. As a support i'm typically a very aggressive playstyle but Nami is one of the few i've consistently built as utility to a fair amount of success in normals as well as ranked.

For myself, there's no one specific build I adhere to. I try to adapt to my teams needs as well as if laning went well or poorly.

My core build on her would be:

item 2302 item 3107

I start coin over spellthief because early in lane spamming abilities runs you dry on mana very fast. I play the long game which means I prioritize when and how to use an ability offensively or defensively. I also run item 2031 over potions because as a support you're on a tight budget. Between a finished coin item, and a consistent failsafe of a couple of health potions, you'll have a completed support item very early into the game, as well as boots if not a second item. Overall it's my personal preference. As soon as refillable potion came out i've been using it on support and have noted seeing it in competitive play as well as high elo casters, so my preference seems to have a few like minded individuals.

Boots would depend upon how the game is going. item 3117 are the standard and quite reliable. However with a heavy cc enemy team, getting it's passive off constantly makes it lose it's luster. item 3009 I typically will use in those sorts of game as utility. item 3020 will work fine with a more AP focused build.

Against a typical or heavy ad team, i'll take item 3110. I've tested out item 3025 in the past, but favor FH. item 3190 for again the typical mixed damage team. Less used, but definitely useful are item 3512 and item 3060. Both are amazingly useful whether ahead or behind when properly used. I can still recall a game a season back where I used both in top lane and in the midst of both teams being focused elsewhere took two towers. Unfortunately ZZrot's nerfs make it less potent but it still is a fantastic tool for sieging towers as well as relieving pressure from a neglected lane or as an aid to being sieged.

When I do want to build some AP, I prefer utility even with that. item 3116 Is amazing for slowing down the enemy to engage or disengage. There are also times when your team has a fair amount of AP but haven't built item 3001. If you have the room in your inventory without going past maximum CD works quite nicely.

My standard build usually looks like this. item 2302 item 3107 item 3009 item 3110 item 3512 with either item 3116 or item 3190 depending on how my team is fairing.

Personally, i normally do item 2045 item 3092 item 3009 item 3107 for my main items..... Normally doing something like item 3174 item 3116 item 3110 item 3050 item 3109 item 3504 item 3190 interchangeably to make 45% CDR and do whatever else.

Also works just fine with doing item 2301 for the extra space, but if you grab the locket you want ruby sightstone.

since nami has a basic attack buff, a chaining heal and damage ability, a delayed vertical skill shot, and her R i like to buff her defensive stats and focus her kit on basic attacking.

item 3102 item 3116 item 3115 item 3504 item 3174 item 3020

and then i use armor runes and a green and blue mastery tree build.

That was quite the read but well worth it, it just involves a small tweak to my usual build so it shouldn't be to difficult to get used to .

Thank you for taking the time to read it all. I'll admit, it's the first time i've went so in depth into my thought process of building support. I wish you success with whatever builds you do use. Never be afraid to try new things and see what works for you. If you enjoy AP and find it raises your winrate, keep it in mind whatever you do to alter your build. Good luck and have fun.

What runes do you run? I feel like refillable would leave you with less sustain than you would like in a trading lane or a heavily aggressive lane, or does Coin make up for that? Spellthiefs also gives less damage, so in a super aggressive lane would you go that instead?

Also, not going for cookies seems to be a waste of a mastery slot - Runic mastery and Assassin aren't gonna be any use either.

What do you think about running heavy mana regen with maybe an Athenes or health regen + more heals? Basically you're a Raka, except with better sustain in the long run for worse healing in fights, and CC.

I've also built item 3165 once or twice, to cap out CDR if you wanna go Locket into other non-cdr items. The 100 AP works well with your heals and damage, although for reliable damage you really gotta land that Q (a Spellthiefs + Morellos + Rylai's Nami build can 100-20 a squishy, if everything hits - that Q base damage is really high, it's not a Zyra or Brand but the damage is not to be ignored, it's a bit risky though because you're very squishy and that mage will probably oneshot you if you don't leave by the time the stun is over, and a few autos to proc your E are also kinda needed.)

I run flat blue MR, red armor, and yellow health with armor quints. Whether or not optimal, i've had and used it for my "generic" support page for years. If I were to take Nami AP, I would run my more aggressive page: Flat red and blue magic pen, flat yellow armor, and AP quints. I run meditation on my mastery page and I do have it left Besides that, it's called good budgeting of my mana. Early on is when it's at it's roughest.

As I said, spamming your spells no matter which you run will empty you out early. If i'm playing Nami, outright aggression is not my aim. I have Sona, Zyra, and Karma for that. Or if i'm feeling adventurous/cheeky, Brand, Fiddle, Velkoz, Lux, etc. Nami, Janna, and Soraka are my utility supports, all which I use coin with. Utility meaning holding spells for the right moment instead of a constant poke. As for cookie on the mastery tree, it's there, left over from the years. When I used to upgrade to corrupting potion first back years ago it had the added side effect of leaving the damage longer which was nice. I've since weened myself off the crutch to need to upgrade, but it definitely helps if you're learning to lane with refillable instead. Mana conservation is key.

You pose an interesting question. If i'm going to be aggressive as I said, it's the champion pick that matters to me, not the item. Short of an aram, where I still started the mana half of item 3165 as well as item 3301, I don't typically build her AP. Well, in URF as well where you can quite literally perma slow people with item 3116 and heal them to death. ;)

But yes, my way is definitely not the only way. I will say I consistently am ahead on items going coin over spellthiefs which is why I made the switch. I value being a rich fish in laning. The heals get reserved for the marksman which I use my refillable. If you are willfully putting yourself in a position to be constantly damaged it won't work. I suppose i'm just in a very strategic mindset when playing her over my "kill everything that moves" mindset as Sona, lol.

Your build idea certainly has promise. I assume you would get redemption as well for obvious synergy? As for item 3165, as said I save that for certain circumstances in alternative modes. Full AP Nami hurts like hell.

I'm still not sure why I went more conservative with Nami while I went into pure aggression with Sona. To be fair, Sona's aggression is about the easiest you can get. Nami takes a bit more work. Her W range is generous but still puts you in a fair amount of danger. Q obviously takes the most work, but I think we all can agree that landing that multi person bubble is simply satisfying.
