Random statement about Lee Sin
Lee Sin is a fun champion. Probably one of the most fun champions in the game if not the most fun champion in the game. Especially if you're good with him. However. After reading a post on the boards about the character. I really took a look at him a different way. And honestly? I can say without a doubt.
Lee Sin is most certainly far too strong of a champion... but not in every situation.
Now while I'm sure some of you Lee Sin mains are already downvoting this post before you finish reading this, thinking this is another rant about how broken he is, it's not. However this is a situation that I feel needs to be said about him.
Lee Sin is a bit on the OP side of things, but he's not broken. Why is this? Why doesn't he break the game? Simple as this. While Lee Sin can arguably be the strongest champion in the game, he has one thing that keeps him from being officially broken. His skill ceiling. Yes. Even a bad Lee Sin can get a cool level 2-3 gank at 3 minutes. And an okay Lee Sin can probably get about 5-7 kills by like 20 minutes, maybe more. But a godlike Lee Sin? Is what will mostly win the game. No matter what the situation is. There's a reason why "Insec" is a verb now.

If every player or even most of the players played Lee Sin like Insec does... then yes. He would be absolutely the most broken champion in the game. But that's the thing. There's only one Insec (to my knowledge, correct me if I'm wrong).
Lee Sin is a champion that is both nerfed and buffed by the wielder. A bad Lee Sin will build full damage, get a bunch a kills early game. Then when late game hits, they fall off, try to make plays, only to die over and over again. An okay/good Lee Sin may get a few kills here and there, build tanky and try to make a pick on whoever is caught out. A god like Lee Sin WILL cause you to die no matter what. And that's scarier than every version.
A godlike Lee Sin, doesn't have to go 10/0. A god like Lee Sin can get all his laners a kill, while still dealing damage in his own right. Still get picks. And still make plays. A god Lee Sin won't look for someone to get caught out, they'll MAKE them get caught out. They'll force the pick and you will die. A god Lee Sin will have you buy more wards and play overly cautious. They'll lead their team to certain victory, while your team falls apart, wondering why they let Lee Sin through.
And this is the problem we have come with Lee Sin. If you play him absolutely perfectly, you will most of the games you play, based on sheer awesomeness. But if you mess up and you can't make plays and fail a lot... you'll most likely lose more games then with any other champion.
And Riot knows this. They know that most players won't reach Insec status. Hence why they won't nerf him.
Think of it from the Lee Sin mains' point of view. They spend months/years spamming Lee Sin out. Practicing plays. Doing skirmishes. Playing him over and over again. Watching videos and going over plays over and over and over and over again. Their getting to the point that they've reached is like their gift for enduring the many many many many losses they've had and the many MANY hours they're burned to get to that point.
Think of it like a super rare (MVP/God-Item/Holy crap WTF IS THAT?!) one of a kind drop, that you physically cannot get unless you shell out several hundred (maybe thousand) hours to get. And because of which, you become God. You obliterate raids, absolutely tear apart every monster that appears and most importantly, you are absolutely and completely unstoppable in PVP. But there's such a low percentage of players that have that item and even lower of a percentage of the players that can even attempt to get that item, that nerfing it would absolutely punish the hard working players that earned it.
A genuine InSec level Lee Sin player, is like that.
So what can be done about this? Eh... I really don't know if anything SHOULD be done about it. Buffing him to allow more players to use him effective would kinda spit on the players that worked hard to master him completely. And nerfing his damage also spits on those players.
So, you tell me guys. Should Lee Sin just stay the way he is? Or should something about him be changed?
