An example of why Objectives > Kills and why it should be remembered especially in low elo

I was gold 3 last year and currently silver 4 so pretty noob at the game. But my last game is a good example why focusing objectives is greater than focusing kills and how this can help you climb especially in low elo.
Now my k/d/a and kill participation are laughable 3-4-3 with 21% kp in 37 min game haha. But this isn't just about me but about my team and what we were able to accomplish together while down kills.
Quick back story. Enemy jungler
got insanely fed. Like 17-3 at 1 point early on I believe. Now as our jungler this really frustrated me for a couple reasons.
-
I helped our top get first blood and then invaded her jungle and made her back. I was level 5 while she was level 3 and was up 21 cs to 8 after first back. I Then proceeded the best my low elo ass could handle trying to invade her jungle while keeping mine farmed and keeping a level advantage over her.

Problem. Instead of farming her jungle she started farming kills. Which my bot lane helped her with immensely allowing her back into the game and making the game much harder for us.
I probably messed up a bit... well hell I know I did. But instead of trying to save my bot over & over again as they would not listen to me I focused on farming jungle, counter jungling, and helping my team push turrets and take objectives. Now while
had a field day bot, our
was a monster top. She took T1 & T2 top before any other towers were took I believe and even 3v1ed the enemy top at one point.
So basically, what you had was
split pushing, our mid
pushing another lane, me farming jungle/drags/other lane, and our
&
running to where the enemy ways and dying a bunch. Now... although
had many kills... she got a lot of these by ignoring defending turrets and dragons and rather having her and 3 other teammates 1v4 1 of our split pushers. So yea... the enemy team got a kill hell sometimes 3 because our bot came up there. But usually we got a couple too meanwhile we were taking turrets and pushing other lanes and me counter jungle the shit out of
jungle.
Although it took longer than it should we won the game easy. Our stats: 1 baron, 11 turrets, 5 dragons. Enemy: 0 baron, 0 dragons, 2 turrets. We literally won the game by never really grouping and just destroying the enemy base while they chased kills despite some of their players being really fed. Our bot lane kept saying "lets group" which the rest of us responded with "screw that lets just split push since their not defending". Worked very well in the game at hand.
This is a basic idea of the concept of looking at the full picture of the game and why in the end kills don't matter as much as a lot of us think they do.
Bonus: You remember that enemy jungler who was super fed? Guess what? I had more gold than her at the end of the game and was also level 18 while she was 17 :). And even though my kills/ kp was insanely low I still did way more total damage (not champs but monsters, creeps, towers, dragons, etc.). Games aren't solely won off k/d/a. The sooner you learn that the easier it will be to rank to a new skill level.
