Information request and proposed ideas on DQ/SQ coexistence.
Alright riot, I get it?? The community isn't big enough to support both queues? I would like some serious evidence, not some vague words on statistics that may or may not exist.
- How many players currently play ranked as opposed to last season. Furthermore, what % of these players are new to the ranked scene, and what % of players stopped playing ranked.
- How many people play in 3 and 4 player groups/what % of games include these.
- What is the % of solo players? (People who mainly play solo or possibly duo.)
- What is the queue time difference between solo players and 3-4 man groups?
Based on those answers (provided Riot can deliver) we can elaborate exactly what would happen if both queues were allowed to co-exist. I also believe that there are solutions to separate the queues without compromising the game too much.
- Make DQ bronze - gold. This is where the majority of the casual players are, and as such they aren't in a purely competitive rank yet. Plat-Challenger would be solo/duo to keep the spirit of competition alive among the best players.
- Separate the queues, or remove DQ. (After the statistics this can be decided upon.)
- Make Solo MMR and Duo/party MMR separate, in a similar fashion to that of ranked solo and ranked teams from previous season. This way, parties can't gain solo ranks, and have completely different rewards to that of solo players. (This would also end up making it unlikely for solo players to interact with these groups.)
- Make DQ have 2-3 and 5 man premades ONLY. This way solo players never have to play with or against groups of 3 or 5.
I'm fairly sure there are still a lot of solo players that are still clinging onto league in the hopes that riot will fix these issues, I am one of these players. I am humbly awaiting a response from one of Riot's numerous team members to answer my several questions. P.S. Rioter, if this will take some time to gather the information, by all means let us know and deliver them ASAP. Thank everyone for taking the time to read this.
(I posted this a while ago, at like 2 A.M. so it didn't get much traffic. I'm reposting it to gauge response.)
