Writing my thoughts, I think the new essence system is at minimum three times worse than the old influence one. I'll start by refreshing the memory of how little point you got for winning. For wins, excluding the first win of the day, one would receive roughly around 75-100 IP. Assuming we win literally every game and get the highest value for every single win it would have taken us about 63 games to get a 6300 champ excluding first wins. With the new system in place it will take you at minimum 3 times longer to get a 6300 unless you have leftover IP from last season. New player? No champs for you bud. I would use other MOBAs as examples for how to balance the currency system but DoTA is un-enjoyable tho their champs are free, smite is pretty good with this actually but is also in need of a major update, and HoTS is also decent with this. You see the difference primarily with League of Legends loot system and other Mobas is actually quite apparent. DoTA the heroes are free, Smite has god favor or whatever it is for consecutive log-ins, and HoTS has a much much more rewarding crate system as well as leveling much much faster. TLDR, It feels like Riot doesn't care about how much blue essence we get, they make enough money anyway, and 50 blue essence once per day is a joke. But hey All-stars :)
