New Draft champ select feedback
Hello Rito, I made a medium sized post of my personal opinions of the changes and state of Draft play! I hope it can persuade you to improve it a bit.
Pros:
- Players get 1 of 2 roles and generally are happy.
- Most people have ceased "pick order" claims.
- One player no longer controls all the bans.
Cons:
- Not knowing which players will ban leads to people accidentally dodging.
- Players who wish to not ban a champion cancel the game out.
- Preferred champion timer is a waste of time. You should just be able to do it at anytime during the ban/select process.
So, overall I think you guys are in the right direction, but there are the same failures that frustrate people. I don't mean to directly compare LoL to HotS, but there is one element I'd like to address: A single ready carries you into the game. Players in HotS do not suffer the "random dodging" that plagues League.
Draft Players in League of Legends experience "delays" at every step of the process now: Failure to accept match, failure to ban a champion, failure to pick a champion, and of course, "I don't like the team comp so I'm leaving."
These delays can add up to an entire games worth of wasted time. I thought of some things that could be tested out:

No more accept/decline match UI. Too many people are simply just not paying attention and miss the 10 second window to accept. Waiting 10 seconds when someone declines instantly is a waste of time as well. (Why would anyone decline anyhow? They've already made the decision to queue!)

No more ban dodge. I feel this is the most awkward added function, whether you simply don't want to ban a champion or you don't realize you were supposed to ban, the punishment of waiting 5 min / 15 min is too severe.
** Controversials ** 3) No more champion select auto-kick. Preferred champion is selected if you go AFK after bans. If no champion is selected, you get a random available champion that fits your assigned role.
- Closing your client after every champion is selected no longer dodges. You are stuck in your game until completion.
The only way champion select cancels is if a player manually dodges. The above suggestions would expedite this. People will dodge for anything, so why not just give them a dodge button as well? It would do the same function as closing the client, but it would warn them of the consequences prior.
Anyhow I hope your system only improves, and I feel these steps would be on par with your experiments and make most players happy.
