I'm concerned the game may require a total overhaul
Damage has creeped to disgusting levels, with everything in every role being completely polarising in that they are either too strong or too weak with no in between.
The tactical aspect of league for the most part is dead. Brutal sweeping reduction in ward/vision control access for over half of the roles has resulted in a Schrodinger's Jungler situation, where any attempt at a play is improportionately risky because no one knows where the hell the jungler is, and it's simply easier, more effective, and straight up better to just wait for the fucker to come win lane for you.
Early game snowballing is completely out of control, mainly because towers carry minimal, if any, threat at all, but give a disgustingly inverse amount of reward.
Keystones are a mess in and of themselves, providing power at wrong times to champions that shouldn't have it (
- TLords), over-saturating a champion's strengths to unbearable levels (
- TLords,
- Colossus), or masking [sometimes even outright removing] intended weakness(es) (every champion that uses warlords).
Champions move wayyyyyyyy too fast, which in conjunction with less vision than a blind person and paper mache towers, means 1 rotation mid or top is almost a guaranteed tower, likely more because the poor sap trying to 1v3 defend/delay is killed the minute he steps outside fountain to stop it.
Late Game champions cannot be made strong because they are required to be over-buffed (
), or buffed in such a way that an early game alternative playstyle becomes possible (crit
), and they become effective, they are TOO effective, and drown out most of the champion pool. Or they are ADCs and simply power spike so immensely hard at 3 items that murdering them continuously is the only way to avoid it.
The traditional elements of ideal/perfect teamfighting have heavily diminished, where they have basically become: "Burst the first/next foolish sucker that comes into range with as much low-counterplay damage as we can muster".
Funny thing is I liked Ziggs bot at first. But now I'm terrified. Because I don't want that to become the norm. What kind of game are we playing where the limits of our creativity and diversity are confined to "This takes towers quickly and is kinda-safe-ish from ganks"?
Or maybe it's all according to plan. It hurts me to say it but I'm beginning to feel uncertain as to whether or not Riot WANTS solo players in their game. Season 4 and 5 were bearable because it was a case of "we're making solo carrying harder for you", which I could deal with. But ever since then it feels like it's been more along the lines of: "We're punishing you for playing alone, get a duo partner you fucking retard".
