Why I liked the old Gangplank

Yes, I know this is like 2 years late and no, this isn't some rant about how bad the new Gangplank is. I just want to explain why I liked the old Gangplank better. So, we all know that League of Legends is supposed to be fun, right? Keyword, supposed to. But honestly, the new Gangplank isn't all that fun. I mean, he's strong and all, but he's not fun. I used to be a Gangplank main and let me tell you this, I may not have gone 15/1/13 and won every game, but god damn was he SOO fun to play as. I feel like Gangplank was meant to be a champion where you're just supposed to have fun with him. And honestly, I'm fine with those types of champions. Because there are some times where I could care less if I win, I just want to have fun. So, I'm not asking for Riot to change him back I just want them to understand Some champions aren't meant to be good, they're just meant for you to play and have SOO much fun with Gangplank was one of those champions, and honestly, I don't know why the changed him. League of Legends is about having fun, not winning.
