Mage mana predicted impact

I wasn't sure what the explosion of negative comments were all about, but I followed the link provided in one thread today that listed all the changes.

Basically, I took a look at the numbers and all I saw were 3 things:

1 - Doran's Ring is getting reworked. Players wanted the + damage on minions, and they're getting that. The rest is details that I don't care too much about since I usually bought Doran's Blade or an income item on Mages anyway and will probably continue to do so because I like the small amount of lifesteal/wards that I would get from it.

2 - Many champions are getting huge buffs, with an increase of 33 percent in mana regeneration! And on top of that, the majority of these champions are getting both an increase in starting maximum mana and...

3 - ...a massive nerf to the mana gain per level.

I've played a lot of Mages, well, every class really. And IMHO, everything I've read so far from other posters on these changes seems to be way off the mark as far as predicting what these changes will mean.

The mana gain per level is being cut in HALF. And not even for some of the champions such as Kayle and Teemo. Strange in Teemo's case since he doesn't run out of mana nowadays anyway...

We're losing 50 percent maximum mana, but gaining 33 percent mana regeneration? Is that roughly what this all means? It's hardly a nerf worth this level of complaint. I'm sure I'm missing a lot of details, but at first glance, this looks like something not worth complaining about.

The biggest impact this is going to make is absolutely not whether mages can keep on casting spells, but it's going to impact mana scaling.

are quite possibly the only things that will be affected by these changes. Some other champions I may not own and I may have forgotten whether they have mana scaling or not, but there are very few of them if I missed any. aren't even on the list, but if they were, they would feel the sting of the nerfs for sure. will only see these changes as buffs unless they actually bought those items, which AFAIK, they did not, could be wrong on that, though. which are not getting touched would only see these changes as buffs too unless they bought those items.
