Best Supports! Patch 5.4

It still depends on who you like...

One of my favorites. She was "nerfed", but it doesn't change her playstyle, just that she is less mobile. Amazing disruption and okay sustain if you can time shields properly. Strong peel makes up for a lack of damage. Thresh is good if you can land that hook. Imo, he loses to poke and sustain lanes horribly if he cant land the skillshots. Very well rounded support. Works with any adc. Like Always...a hit or miss. LAND THOSE GRABS that makes or breaks you. Like Janna, he focuses on protection, but instead of keeping people away from your carry, he is more about absorbing the damage and cc and counter-engaging via stun. Great at making plays as well. Fairly tanky. Probably the safest pick for a support. She doesn't struggle against anyone and can initiate or peel as needed. Long CD's and reliant on timing and skillshots. Right behind thresh....I think she is the most versatile support. Good CC, a heal, peel, and mobility. Bubbles make or break Nami so do not miss. Very mana hungry early on if not careful. The queen of trades and AOE compositions. Strong Auras, great early game poke, nice sustain. You must have good positioning as Sona or you will get killed/focused due to her squishiness. Game-changing ultimate with many uses. My personal favorite, new Soraka focuses on healing. Her sustain is unmatched and combined with the starcall + astral infusion combo she makes even the best healers struggle to stay in lane. Requires good map awareness and skillshot positioning. Only support with global presence and weak to all-ins.

Another jack-of-all trades support, but has fallen out of flavor as support. She has nasty poke, hard cc, and great followup abilities. Struggles against sustain lanes and is very mana hungry. In my opinion, the best team fight support.

Like Blitz..go in or go home. She has unmatched lockdown and CC. Impossible to kill late game and does well with burst ADCS. Struggles against heavy poke and disengage.
