Can we please re-buff Abyssal mask?
While I do get that before the nerf to the Mask's range it was a tad OP on mages that could maximize the damage, it has become to the point where I only ever see 3-4 champions can use it (Amumu, Malphite, Cho and apparently there was a case w/ LeBlanc which seems kinda scary).
The original problem was that most mages were using it in particular against bad AP matchups and were able to still get a good advantage despite not building AP, which from a competitive standpoint kinda makes sense; why would it be fair for someone to not be building damage and yet still be doing more damage than you? (ignoring the cases of tanks who can melt you while building full tank for the purposes of this argument, I'll get to that later) However, what they did was shorten the range of the Mask's Aura to 325 units (25 more than the radius of Amumu's W) so that most mages really couldn't use it AT ALL without getting hella close to the enemy. This makes it so that only the champs who get really close stand to do any extra damage with the aura.
So I propose we increase the range up to either 425 or 450 (or even make it so it scales with champ level!). This way, most regular mages still have to get close enough that they might receive retaliation from the enemy, but at least opens the item up to more Battlemages which I feel was the intended group to be able to use it in the first place.
Abyssal Mask is the only other item that uses Catalyst other than
(I still don't get why GLP was changed to have Lost Chapter, I feel like Protobelt would be a better choice, but that's another story), and I really want to use the item again without having to be a tank champ to use it (considering I only play Karthus lol), but on anyone other than a tank, it's just not good enough to use with that small a range.
TL;DR: Calling for a buff to increase the Range on
so that at the very least, battlemages can use it again.
