Tower Ideas- Spice It Up a Notch?
Hello everyone, I thank those who constantly read my discussions and if you have come here due to the title, then look no further. Before we start, I have a small disclaimer about League and the correlations to my last discussion. Skip to the next paragraph if you wish to move onto the desired parts. Now then, I have suggestions about sprucing up the towers and giving them some advanced abilities that could later on be similarly seen on the rift. So as we know nexus blitz came out and at the very last event, it spawns your nexus as a pawn to battle it out and which ever one gets destroyed, loses the game. In my past discussions I spoke about being able to get something from the jungle and sacrifice your tower by turning it into a part of your minion wave. Well... like always, league can't seem to use that idea due to me saying something about it even when I said, "I don't care if you use it. I'd love to see it implemented."
So with no further to due, I believe turrets deserve to have special abilities that you buy at the store. What kind of abilities? Well... for starters. Lets explain a tower's function is and what they have? Turrets are defensive towers that block the enemy's path to the nexus. They are a weapon; They are used to shoot enemy minions and champions. They also need to be destroyed in order for either team to move on. Towers provide true sight, which means ONLY traps and stealth within a certain area can be seen. They deal AD damage that is MOSTLY undodgeable. Potentially, they deal less damage later on, have less health deeper in and hold less resistance as the game progresses. Turrets have a pseudo-inventory like: Fortification- 50% damage reduction from all sources, this effect expires after 5 minutes. (Reduction applies before armor). Penetrating Bullets- +30% armor penetration. Warming Up- Turrets gain 40% damage each time they strike a champion (Max 120% bonus damage). and Reinforced Armor- Gains 66.66% Damage Reduction (includes True Damage Reduction) when no enemy minions are in range for attack. So if they are basically just a wall mount weapon, don't you think we should have the right to customize how our defensive system is set up? I mean, it's not like we're going to set up a mouse trap for a fly here. Why should this be any different?
So here is my idea. In the store, add the option where the user can buy only one "start out weapon" (pseudo-inventory) for each tower to equip your outer turret with. (no additional charge, but only a 1 time purchase (like how you can get only one Ornn upgrade)). So if we add and buy the given choices, what could the turrets do? As in, what would the pseudo-inventory be? This is where things can get very complex, situational, and creative. Imagine where your turret can build up a massive charge of AD and let it out all in one burst... the con of that would be weaker consecutive blows, thus removing the "Warming up" pseudo-inventory. You don't like the idea of that? Then how about splitting up the tower shots by 3, each dealing a 3rd of the total damage to individual targets? (For a visual, it would work like a
). It would be great for something like a dual lane. You think that's clumsy? Then how about an area of affect that just bleeds out anything in the radius, but only by 2. You see... these are just sloppy examples to the variety of what the creators from League of Legends can actually do. This here can take many... many ... MANY different direction or forms, each individually also being implemented. League should really think about opening up their eyes and see the opportunities they have in front of them; The very ones they have made themselves.
Anyhow, that just about wraps up the small improvements that I found which can be added onto league. What do you think about this? Would you love to see more content added into the "In-Game" client? Do you think this would create a nice direction for the developers to actually dig deep into? I'm open to many other suggestions. Lets make league much much more interesting together! :D
